• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

My wife and myself went for our Sunday walk down swansea bay sea front we go past civic centre then down to the marina. Noticed Marina Market was on so we decided to see how it was going. We put on masks but kept our distance.

People were flocked around each other on food stalls etc. no masks on. They did have one way system set up but based on social distancing etc. It was non existent. If that had been a shop or pub they would have been shut down. I was surprised it wasn’t being policed by the organisers, the stall holders didn’t seem to care either, a few of them had masks on.

We didn’t hang around for long.

Yep and the Government are not being to fussed about implementing any harsh fines etc because perhaps they are going for herd immunity in a way that makes them look as if they are not, and who knows if they believe that there is not much of a chance of getting a vaccine etc they may very well believe Herd immunity may be the only chance we may have of getting on top of this Covid, and as things stand at the moment and we are certainly are not getting anywhere with all this implementing and then lifting restrictions, we just seem to be going around in circles, whilst ruining the economy and causing so many unnecessary deaths due to the neglect of other illnesses.

As a matter of interest, if you’ve had the bug and got over it, and also stayed in etcetera, how could you infect someone in the future? Is is possible to collect the virus about your person and then deposit it on another surface which someone else subsequently touches for instance?

I’m starting to think that we really will be in trouble over Christmas. I’ve been hoping that it would subside a bit but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. It wouldn’t surprise me if we hit the absolute peak at the end of the year and into Jan/Feb...

There are business owners quoting the Magna Carta at police now

This is incredibly sad and a reminder of how COVID can destroy families.

Anyone who dies within 28 days of testing positive is automatically said to have died from covid. That ruling is a total fraud that we must wake up to.
It's not who's dying from covid but the ones who are because of it.
