If you had a bad Chinese meal, I would want to know which Chinese you used, so I could avoid it in the future. If a surgery is doing as you have suggested, they should be named and shamed too. Otherwise it just looks like scaremongering.

NHS has enough criticism and rightly so if deserved, spurious comments like yours need validation.

That's a fair point, going from what I was told is not really good enough. I will not post hearsay again.

Mixed one from me, we had a horrendous August with my wife, 3 weeks of 101 out of hours and visits to Hospital, where your then sort of sent away!!!
Then finally get to see a doc, and then we had some movement , only to be messed about with the hospital , but finally got the issue sorted.

But on the plus side our docs are superb with treating my Missis, whose had a bad 20 years or so.

TBH can only blame this Covid shyte for whats happening. its messing everything up, whether it will be the same again ? who knows.

It is not having trouble in seeing your GP which is the problem that can be done but in a lot of cases you have to be insistent, the problem is getting to see a specialist once your GP refers you, that is where the neglect occurs due to priority to the Covid over all the other illness, of course these restrictions and delays can be magically erased if you are prepared to pay vast sums of money for your diagnosis and treatment.

I agree that Covid has completely messed up attention on other medical issues, though I believe Cancer therapies are getting back to normal. If you recall, on the old Planet Swans site, I started a thread in June highlighting the fact my friend had had her arm operation postponed, and then cancelled at Glangwili in Carmarthen since January. She was a nurse and needed the so called 'non urgent' op to get back working on the front line.

An appeal to Hywel DDA to allow her op, via Rebecca Evans, MS for Gower was rejected. This really affected my friend, and she just gave up mentally. I alerted her family she was not answering her phones, and the police found her body in her bedroom back in early July. Massive shock and tragedy as she was only 50 and used to be so bubbly and a right laugh to be around.

That is absolutely tragic. I remember the post.

I tried reading between the lines but still not entirely sure - did she take her own life?

The cause of death has yet to be established as the post mortem showed no conclusive reason. The results can take up to 3 months to come through in that situation apparently. Yet to find out, but I knew she was mixing alcohol with strong opium based painkillers to get her through the constant pain.

So sorry to hear that Bryn. RIP

Heartbreaking. I hope she is pain and stress free, wherever she is

Wow, that is tragic, the mental turmoil of so many who are not having check ups and operations must be really scary, the sad thing is if she could have been able to afford to pay the vast sum they no doubt would ask for they would have fitted her in no time, Covid or no Covid.

My surgery hasn’t been great, but then again I don’t think covid has much to do with that.
