Duff speaks and backtracks

“and it’s probably, possibly, why Cardiff haven’t been as successful of recent times as they maybe didn’t take it as passionately? Who knows? “

Sorry mate I think that’s received bullshit. They made that up as an excuse, especially about Jones, but look at the reaction to Chopra’s last minute goal. When they win they and Jones were up for it. Strange that.

Oh believe me buddy I don’t subscribe to rhetoric at all, the fans are DESPERATE to win against us, despite any bs protestations saying we aren’t a rival etc etc etc, I’m meaning more their media build up, and how they gear towards it that way, they don’t seem like they approach it quite like we do in that way, but behind doors who knows? Like you state it’s an as and when criteria, and they simply haven’t matched us, their fans are always quiet down here, up there they’re nowhere near as intimidating as they were in ninian.
I think from the pov of the managers and playing staff, they try and say what they think fans need to hear on social media, and they approach it by dressing it down, or really playing up to it, my point of saying what I said was, i personally don’t think they seem to build it like we do, but they definitely HATE losing to us, from a personal pov I don’t care what’s said in pressers etc, talk is cheap.

Never wanted to be more wrong about anything in my life, but unfortunately I can only see Cardiff winning.

For a whole host of reasons, but chiefly law of averages - our current run in this fixture can't continue indefinitely. It just can't. Given the overall history of the fixture, Cardiff are bound to win one sooner rather than later. That's before you start getting into our well documented problems at the start of this season.

I won't predict an exact score, just that Cardiff will win.

I echo this sentiment right here right now, laws of averages, coupled with our less than satisfactory start, I fully expect us to lose, the one thing I hope, is we lose with a fight, and lose at least thinking there’s some sort of positive…..hard to take any positives losing any game but obviously this game has the spicy needle.
However, I hope my fears and concerns are absolutely nonsensical and we do get at least a point…..I bloody hate these games before a ball is kicked aye.

I know what you mean, although I don't get as worked up about these games as I used to during the 2008-2014 era.

When we were going up against Jones's teams it was like good v evil - we were the cleverly run club playing lovely stuff, they were the chequebook team playing long ball crap. Both teams were promotion contenders. It felt personal. It mattered.

Then when were in the Prem that one season together, it was about kudos. One win each but we stayed up while they went down. Job done.

Now - as it has been ever since we went down - it's just two clubs not particularly well run and not particularly good on the pitch, essentially fighting over a dead rat. I'm not doing the fixture down, I still want to pummel them every time, but it just doesn't hold the same jeopardy for me anymore. It doesn't matter quite as much. I appreciate many will disagree.

No I get you, we’ve been mid to lower table with the two doubles, it was absolutely amazing to have done those doubles, and if we could, I’d love to smash um every time, but I think partly now, we’ve done the massive damage to them, the only way they could ever claw a modicum of respect back for themselves is if they “relegated” us or, beat us in a final or something of that ilk, so they aren’t as important to us now, still a hate figure, but it’s not as hyper important to beat them….I think I’m trying to kid myself 😂 I too don’t wish to downplay what it means, I’ll sulk for a week if we lose, but like yourself I guess, my hatred isn’t as anywhere near as it was when I was younger for example, and now we’ve got a spell on them, it’s almost…..almost, pitiful, however, if they do win tomorrow, they’ll show it on the news for longer and go on about it, unlike when we win it’s merely a passing mention, I’m sure that’ll wind me up and awake me from my stupor, i think we’re feeling a bit venerable going into this one for many reasons, all we can do, is hope that by around 930pm tomorrow, we are feeling happy to have been wrong.
