• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

There was a feature on the radio about the crime of ‘causing death by dangerous driving’. If I remember correctly, the tariff they start with, if found guilty, is 14 years. Then they apply appertaining criteria to chip away at it. An example would be, in my opinion, pleading guilty.

Some years ago my reaction to this news would be similar to yours. I reckon that a man his age drinking the amount of alcohol that he did has got to have serious issues in his life. To then get into his [deadly weapon of a] vehicle and drive shows a desperation on his part relative to his situation in life. A complete absence of sensibility to his responsibilities. Head in the shed.

He got 8 years, 4 years in the slammer and 4 years under licence prob with a probation officer.

His actions have wrecked the victim’s life, the lives of the family of the victim and, unless he’s a psychopath, his own life.

I reckon he’ll be around 70yo by the time he’s out of the legal system, and every day for him and the other survivors is gonna be a nightmare.
