• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I thought I remembered Hartson trying to negotiate to come here toward the end of his career and Martinez basically said no, because he didn't suit his style of play.

Yep. Roberto did not want him at all...and he was right.

I don't care what it costs. Bring Joey home.

They'd never cope.

The thing that cracks me up was that the dull fucking fans were on flight radar tracking flights from Spain to Cardiff. He would have come by a private jet they laid on as well according to some of them. I very much doubt he would take that option. oops!

In the long run its better they didn't sign him... you can just imagine the division he would cause there especially with Morrison. You would have to build your team around him .

He’s only gone and filmed it at The Vale… that’s gotta hurt Cardiff fans just that little bit more 😂

Much as we all would like to acknowledge professional footballers displaying loyalty to their home town or place of birth , Robbie / Charlo/ Speedy / Dean Saunders etc .

Football is now an entertainment vehicle for the highest TV bidder , agents will push their clients to the best money , footballer will see the £ s on offer and sign , some become mercenaries .

Days of a one club man have long gone .

John probably could have joined us in the summer of 2006, and perhaps signed instead of Pawel Abbott. However, this was at the height of his gambling addiction, at the time he really wasn't in a very good place at all and I don't think he was in a brilliant position financially.

By the following summer we had Roberto, who wouldn't have wanted him. He went on loan to Norwich that season, and I'm sure he'd have come to us on loan if he could have done but it wouldn't have been an option.

If Cardiff wasn't where he was born it would have been insanity to even suggest he was gonna play for a championship club to get fit for the world cup. Notoriously a competitive league.

This move makes sense for him and for Wales. The fact that he was never even considering Cardiff makes it even better lol
