• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Well it is here again and a bit of a longer wait that normal due to covid.

Who is everyone looking forward to seeing this year?

There is a few including Macca for me but doubt BBC will cover them, I hope they show Supergrass though as they are always great live and seem to knock it up a few levels whenever they play Glastonbury. Robert Plant tomorrow along with Crowded House and Rufus Wainwright look good, First Aid Kit on sunday on the other stage, Black Midi, Wet Leg, Dry Cleaning, Jesus and mary chain, Big Thief, Squid, Katy J Pearson, Sampa the Great, Courtney Barnett, Cate le Bon and Warmduscher are ones I will look out for / hope get coverage.

It is touch and go with Chemical Bros as they cancelled a gig this week due to covid. Wish Michael Kiwanuka was there as he delivered one of the best performances in 2019, just as the sun was going down. Pure magic.

I'm sitting out in my garden typing this. Don't know who is on but I can hear them. Not enough to actually recognise anything, just that some music is happening. 😊

Going to be like a mud bath up there. I don’t miss going I’ve got to be honest. But it is a festival that everyone should go to at least once in their lives.

Going by some of the photos online there looks like some right pricks there.
Anyone taking fancy dress should be banned from ever going again, wankers.

It has changed so much since the first time I went in the late 80's. As soon a we got in we were harassed by scousers being aggressive to us trying to sell us drugs. When we told them to fuck off one pulled a stanley on us which my mate swedey just laughed at and stuck the head in to him (hence the nickname). It was a scary place after dark, random sound systems, tents getting ripped, dealers everywhere. I stopped going and went back in 97 which was pretty amazing apart from the mud. 2003 was the best year with the best bands plus the weather was scorching.

But yeah fancy dress wankers do my head in.

I won't be that bad. Well not as bad as this in 2005 when it started raining at 4am and did not stop until midday, constant thunder and lightening as well. Luckily we always camp in wickets field near red gate at the top so no flooding at all.

State on these c*nts mun. 🤬

I think the ones in the last pic are wandering performers rather than punters.
