Last 2 games he's been rubbish, tonight he was anonymous and when he did have it, he chose the wrong option or lost it.. captain he isn't, but he's got his backers and people up in high places rate him.. it's funny though that no prem teams have come in for him, considering how highly everyone fawns over him.. the fact that players like Cork, De Guzman, Ki, Shelvey had pelters for years.. they got dogs abuse and Grimes isn't or never will be anywhere near their stratosphere.. this is how far we've fallen as a fan base, creaming their pants over an average plodder in an average team like he's some god

Whose creaming their pants :lol: he's no Captain and shouldn't be Captain, but he's had some decent games recently, during our run, I've slagged him off enough cause he deserved to be imo just has he deserves a bit of praise.

He isnt in any of those mentioned stratospheres as they were all competent PL players and he's nowhere near PL standard.

Surely our last 3 managers, under which Grimes has made over 200 appearances for us, disagree with some of the comments on this thread.
Grimes may not be a Premier League player but he is a very good Championship player.
Like it or not he is the ideal player to conform to the way the manager wants us to play, his possession and passing stats are exceptional and it will be interesting to see how we play without him on Saturday.

He has had a few better games, but this enforced change gives us a chance to look at options. He doesn't always warrant an automatic selection .

Love to see Harry Darling pushed up into midfield just for this game in Grimes place. Plays on the front foot gets forward well and there is goals in him.
