Grimes suspended Saturday

Love to see Harry Darling pushed up into midfield just for this game in Grimes place. Plays on the front foot gets forward well and there is goals in him.

And less chance of him costing us another goal...

I'm sure our manager will sort it out👍

With his ability to get the absolute best out of a player being played in the wrong position...

Expect Fish to replace Grimes.

No bad thing. He is defended to the hilt by some.
He's a mute and so inconsistent

Can’t say I’ve read any posters who have defended him to the hilt. It’s been a season and a half since he missed a game, we’ll soon see how we function without him. Many are getting their wish now, you never know we may well miss him more than most will admit though I hope not. He is mr consistent though many argue consistently poor, his style fits everything that RM football stands for, make of that what you will

I don't think Grimes has been the problem by any means. Get the team balance right and he would look better, maybe very good. Championship player, but that's what we are now, at best, throughout the team.

That's why I'm not too worried at all about staying here as long as it's fun. Go up, we would probably beat Derby's record as we would retain much the same team as the yanks tried to cash out. If we do strike it lucky, great, deal with it then. Last night and that football is no fun and of no benefit.

In the first half Mrs Lifelong came into the room where I was watching the game and asked if I was alright as I was shouting at the tv “Get the fecking ball up the field.”

He has had a few better games, but this enforced change gives us a chance to look at options. He doesn't always warrant an automatic selection .

100%

Everyone seems to be taking this news very well. Stoically, in fact.

"That's why I'm not too worried at all about staying here as long as it's fun. ". Please don't go Monny. :(

(Yes, I know. )

Here's a whacky idea. How about putting Naughton into Grimesy's role? He's got the passing, the calmness, he's got a shot on him.

With options including Fulton, Cundle, Patterson, Cooper and Ntcham we have plenty of ways to create a midfield three for a home game.

Benda
Manning
Latibeaudiere
Darling
Cabango
Wood
Fulton
Cundle
Cooper
Piro/Paterson
Obafemi

It's an option but he's too easily dispossessed for me which is something Grimes isn't. Having said that, the other options don't inspire me either. 😲

My line up would be

Benda
Naughton Cabango Darling Manning

Fulton
Stevens Cooper Oxi-Flex

Piroe
Obafemi

And attack with pace form the off

Sorry? Attack with what? Do you mean attack with Sorinopace?

Who takes the armband Saturday? Naughton? I'd give it to Manning or Fulton.

Highly unlikely and precisely what Martinball isn't.

Darling lacks the technical skills, adroitness, vision and confidence to play the Grimesy role.

Darling failed to make the grade in academy football (re above deficiencies)until very late on when he had a huge growth spurt and was drafted straight into the 1st team at non-league level.

Fulton is the next best alternative, albeit operating at 50% of Matty's level.

whatever happened to Williams, and Congreve ? shame
