I was watching a re run of Kambosos v Haney boxing bout last night, then after it ended on a came an extract of an interview with Nigel Owens what a man he is, he suffered tremendously with coming to terms with his sexuality and came far to close to taking his own life, because he was afraid of telling his family and friends etc.
Made me think of people who have taken that path and its absolutely tragic.

It is horrific mate, I know two gay men who both said they had considered taking their lives on numerous occasions. When you look into someone's eyes, in the person and hear them say things like that, it is fucking heartbreaking. It makes my skin crawl when I read or hear nonsense about gay people. All learned behaviour, stemming from fucking religion, the most evil thing in the world.

I was generalising.

Plenty guilty of what you say. I don't think religion is a defence to being an arse either.

Its fine if they don't want to wear the rainbow jersey, but then they should be made to wear special jerseys that say 'I am a c**t' instead

I 'am not gonna be a hypocrite and say I've never made flippant and childish remarks in the past, but you grow and learn as society grows so to speak and it is heart braking to watch/read about the suffering gay people have gone through in their lives.

I be honest and say that listening to to people like Nigel Owens really opens your eyes, I really hope that any friends or family members would not be fearful of openly talking about their sexuality to people who love them and care, I'd hate to think of them of others for that matter battling their thoughts on their own.

Plenty of us have made those remarks, I know I have. But as you get older, and re-educate yourself, you become a better person. There's a long way to go for society but I'd like to think that it is getting better for the gay community (and others). But some people will never change their attitudes towards others, nasty small minded, insecure people.

I hope it stays and I wish no posts were ever taken down.

Taking post down from certain posters does nothing but protect the guilty. Maybe there should be a way of admin marking the post to demonstrate disapproval without taking it down.

BTW I’m generalising again, not applied to any particular post on this thread.

And maybe homophobic c*nts should be banned from ever posting on here again?
I’m missing something.

Maybe they should but they shouldn’t be able to deny what they have posted.

"I won't be denying my post." That'll be a first!
It makes no difference who you were replying too, it could have been anyone on this forum, it's your opinion on most things that a lot of human beings find objectionable...
Hope this helps 👍

They’re not innocent. They’re homophobic bigots who find religion to back their bigotry but can’t bring themselves to find religion when it affects their income by playing on a Sunday or promoting betting companies on their chests.

I absolutely agree with you, I referring to the op's habit of deleting his own posts "in the cold light of day" rather than mods cleaning up his mess.

They are innocent, the management have even apologised to them for putting them in such a position. How can they be homophobic bigots just for refusing to wear a shirt?

If you don’t get it it says everything about you.

But then, you have form…

I didn’t refer to you. I was generalising.

As with the tampon thread, I will never understand why something that has zero effect on a person can make make them so hostile to others, or lead to monumental meltdowns on the internet.

Each to their own I suppose, but life’s too short to be perpetually angered by things that have no negative effect on a single person or thing.
