There is a very different feel around Swansea City this summer as we appear to have – for the first time in many seasons – a plan as to what we want to achieve and seemingly a group of people who are equipped to deliver it. There is a definite feeling of growing optimism around […]

About all the changes at the club from boardroom to management?

Optimistic about our future/upcoming season?

The right things are being said, but as we all know, talk is cheap.

Having said that, we've started this window quite well. We're less than a week in and should have at least two deals wrapped up before the end of today, in areas that most people would accept really needed strengthening.

We will also lose players which might set some people off, but what matters, what has always mattered most, is how those who leave are replaced. That's where Watson and Marsh will earn their coin.

I agree 100% with Dr W says above. There is an air of positivity coming out of the club at the moment from both words and actions so I'm cautiously optimistic at the moment. Would be happy to still feel that way on 4th August.

Surprisingly chipper after the managerial change. And good to see Winter go. I didn’t realise how low I’d got. Maybe this is a false dawn, but we’ll see. My gut feeling says we’re moving to a better place.

Agreed Phil. Feels a better place already. The communication is better, we’re getting things over the line. The new manager gives me hope we may see a bit more excitement down the Swansea.com next season. Still need a couple of bits of extra quality in the squad though. I’m not sure how deep our pockets are now, but we probably need to spend a bit more than we have in the last couple of years if we want to push on (not that money is the be all; you still need to spend it well of course).

I’m just so chuffed we’ve got rid of Martin. What did he achieve in 2 seasons? More or less exactly the same as he did for Franchise Utd.
Mid table obscurity.
All talk and no trousers, absolutely bored me to death.
Duff Feels like a new broom, sweeping away all that “dominating the ball” bollocks.
Also the new investor’s seem
Much more professional than Waldorf & Statler, with good footballing decisions going forwards.
So to answer the question, I’m feeling positive about SCFC for the first time, for a long time.
So much so, I’ve put a little wager @ 10/1 on us gaining promotion.

The proof will be on the pitch in 4 weeks but I'm really looking forward to the new season.

At least there's hope of seeing some exciting football instead of the pedestrian rubbish that we've watched for the last two years.

Duff's observation that the side needs more pace and physicality was great to hear, it seemed like Martin would only allow a maximum of one player with pace on the pitch at a time.

Pacey winger, full back and (potentially) a keeper are all encouraging signs so long may it continue!

Quietly optimistic, but the Swansea way is to sell your top scorer on the eve of the new season, or when the window shuts, with no time for a replacement.
So we’ll see.

More optimistic than I would have been if Martin had stayed.
As others have said, time will tell though.

I can only reiterate what everyone else has said. Sounds promising so far. He says he wants to play a more physical and faster paced game which will be very welcome as far as I’m concerned. We have to wait and see if he can also walk the walk, as well as talk the talk. Nice to see some early movement with the squad too.

Early days, no one has left yet..... *besides the
Out of contracts which we knew about for a while but early signs encouraging.

My optimism is tempered by how strong the division will be this season though. Top half would be a good achievement. Lots of big hitters around now.

The second toe on my left foot is stinging like holy feck. Been to the chiropodist this morning to start treatment of a pesky veruca which has burrowed under the nail. He's applied some caustic ointment - ouch! Just taken an ibuprofen. Going back on Monday for round two.
Apart from that, cautiously optimistic about the Swans. Resigned to Piroe leaving. Would like to hang on to Ncham, he gives us something different in midfield and is a goal threat. Have we offered him a contract extension?
Need to sort out the goalie situation. If Benda is still a couple of months away, we need better than the Fish. He's a liability, with all due respect.
Glad Key is onboard, now we need a replacement for Manning.
Manager is saying all the right things, we'll see. As others have said, its going to be a much tougher division this year.
