January Transfer Rumours

Lewi
Looks like Lewis O'Brien is the experienced midfielder on loan until the end of the season.
O’Brien is an excellent player at this level. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if he joins us.

A loan btw is normally something I’m against but it makes sense this window as we have signed the midfielder to come in this summer so need a player in the meantime.

Also, on this occasion I think we need a few to keep us up so we can reset in the summer. Again.

Don't get me wrong, he obviously has potential being at Man City. However, they were happy to let him go (possibly due FPS shit) and so he is no Foden in the making according to Pep. More importantly, is he really what we need in a Championship relegation dog fight ?
On a positive, training under Pep, he'd fit in well to Luke's tactics 🙈🤣
In fairness to Wright he's a DM Foden is a Wing/AM, you can't compare them.

That's not to say that Foden isn't the better player cause he obviously is, but Foden is also 5 yrs older.

Yeah don't get me wrong, it's better than nothing but it's still not fixing the massive issues at this club.
Oh I absolutely agree. I just don’t think we can fix them by tomorrow night.

We need a few stop gaps. In the summer we need a full reset. So the next four or five months need to be all about planning. I’m afraid I don’t believe Coleman has shown himself capable of that. Which is bizarre given his background as a hotelier…

On this occasion a midfielder on loan until the new bloke we’ve signed for the summer joins makes sense. Normally would agree.
Can see us selling the Swedish midfielder in the summer, you can guarantee that there will be scouts looking even closer at him now.

Good post

I think we will with the competition there was for him.
None of the competition aswell as us were going to ever pay or be able to pay 40k a week.

To have won the race suggests we are likely paying the highest % towards the full wage.
