• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If you are not going to play to Yates strengths ( which is creating chances for him to finish) then we really shouldn't have bought him. He was anonymous Saturday and again last night, lumping balls up to him all night just isn't his game.

In fairness I think the plan was to do just that. We just lost two major components of it. One to transfer (Ntcham), and one to injury (Ginelly). Despite that we've looked decent in recent games, last night aside.

It looks to be a case of trying to be competitive until January and add to where we're weak then.

When Lowe moved into Yates’s position, he did more in 15 mins than the aforementioned has done in 3 games.
People can make excuses for him if they want, but let’s face it, he needs time away from the first team goldfish bowl, with Duff and his staff working out how they solve the enigma that is Yates. Ie if he’s a fox in the box, how come we can’t get the ball to him?
Or have we wasted £2.5m

Personally, I think a striker should be more involved in build-up play and create opportunities. Piroe and Obafemi seem like they bring more to the table in terms of all-around performance.

Literally, the only thing he offers is tap ins.

No pace. Little strength. Can't hold the ball up. Doesn't run in behind. Doesn't press as intently as, say, Cullen. Doesn't drop off and look to link the play.

Sorry, but you have to offer more than just being a tap-in merchant at this level. 20-30 years ago maybe that would have been ok, but the game has changed.

He needs to shape up or ship out.

In hindsight we should have taken a punt on Macaulay Langstaff instead, he'd be on double figures by now imho...

Just watching the Notts County game , some very good entertaining football.

Can anyone explain to me what he offers the team. There were several posts here last season about Piroe drifting in and out of games and going missing in games. Well this guy offers virtually nothing in most games, if you take away his 3 or 4 tap ins he offers nothing else. He's our main man up front but doesn't shoot, he wins very little In the air and most weeks struggles to hold the ball up. Give me Piroe or Obafemi any day of the week over this guy.

Here it is.

Yates is a goal poacher.. that is it ..

Just needs a system to exploit this
Missed two sitters today one after Ronald put a perfect cross in, in the first half at least it was on target, but then missed the goal by 2 yrds with a header in 2nd half.

Our midfield is shocking Fulton and Grimes dear me. why that hasn't been addressed this window is fuking astonishingly shocking.

Yates who adds nothing to all round play of the team has now added missing sitters on a regular basis to his repertoire too

Can't blame "lack of service" today. Wonder what excuse will come next.
