• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I can see it now, we keep offering piddling amounts of money, until another club steps in and gives them what they want!

I get immensely frustrated when we lowball on bids, but I think there is a slight exception with Low due to his odd contract. The length is supposedly kept private, but there's a general understanding that it's set to expire in 6 months, which does make it a bit of a minefield for bidding. The club will argue that they're better off saving the £800k-£1m in the short term, to offer him a better contract with a lower overall cost in the summer.

Issue with this line of thinking in this exact scenario is that we just need someone to come in at centre-half, and we can't really afford to fanny around.

We have two recognised central defenders at the club.

You'd like to think signing another would be a priority for the club.

The fact both are now injured and we haven't got anyone through the door is an absolute shambles.

But but but we've got new American owners, one of them has a Welsh granny and owns the tallest hotel in the world...

Not in Wycombe squad tonight, was playing on the weekend

Newcastle United are a great example of having a pile of cash and not being allowed to spend it.
Man United also being bitten by the PSR rules, which disproves the theory that it would allow the rich clubs to close the gates and stop anyone challenging them. Even those that generate huge revenues have to spend them properly.

Good piece by Rory Smith on the Athletic about it if anyone is a subscriber. He wrote that the PL clubs didn't think it had teeth until both Everton and Forest were deducted points last season.

I like the principle of it. Makes the playing field a bit fairer.

Ok going after the likes Everton and Forset. The litmus test will be the outcome of the Man City charges.

Well you can say that, but Citeh have spent nia on a billion quid this window with players they've bought with fees and wages etc, think one or two are going there in close season, not 100% on that though.

I don't think there'll be anything significant there, the way the "experts" are talking and they Citeh probably couldn't give a fuk anyway.
