Joe Rodon... Where is he?

If Spurs don’t want him, then I reckon he’d be a good buy for another PL club who’d use him more.

Obviously Birch would have been involved and we should thank him. Rodon was leaving no matter what and we got a very good for a player that was always going to struggle for game time at Spurs.

I guess you omitted the word 'fee' by accident. Even with the word included your sentence is not really looking at big picture, who is to say that Rodon was going to struggle for appearances next season or thereafter? I'd say that we did not get full value for a player who was i) under contract, ii) a full international and commanding a starting place in his international team, iii) playing for a team with a solid defensive backbone, iv) young, v) British / home grown, vi) playing beyond his years at the time of sale.

If Mourinho goes or Rodon moves to another club, I'm pretty confident that we'll look back on that £11m fee as daylight robbery in a few seasons.

Which to be fair was the consensus opinion at the time and that Spurs took advantage of Birch knowing exactly what the lowest amount we would have to take for Joe was.

We can always sign him back when we get promoted and Guehi goes back to Chelsea.

Should have played big Joe see... 😂😂😂😂

He wasn't included in the European squad because he's classed as a foreign player and Spurs had filled their quota.

Considering they’re all on £100k a week, that was shocking tonight.

It’s like they don’t turn up if the Korean bloke isn’t there.

Everyone thinks their bright young players is worthy more than they get sold for. Joe was an exciting CB but untried at a higher lever despite his appearances for Wales and his injury history would have been taken into account.
Ampadu is a decent comparison whose quoted value is around the same as Rodon's.
Who was to say he would struggle for appearances? Lots of people. Had he gone to a mid / low level PL club he would have gained more game time but at Spurs! It was a case of him growing and taking time to impress a manager who didn't know who he was let alone want him (according to the talk in Tottenham).
All things considered the fee (thanks for pointing that out) was a good deal for Swansea City.

I disagree wholeheartedly. We could have and should have got more.

People can slap whatever valuations they like on Rodon, but if nobody is prepared to pay it's meaningless. We got what he was worth to the only team that wanted him.

For a player who'd never kicked a ball in the PL up to £15m is reasonable. It basically valued him at much the same level as Mawson when we sold him, and he had PL experience and an English premium.

And a future England Captain.

Now that's one player who most people on here could have told them was never going to set the Prem alight. In McBurnie's case, his popularity here was never enough to make many blinkered to the fact that he'd found his level in the Championship.
