Feel compelled to report that my wife has also had a parking ticket this morning outside The Bluebell Tycoch Square.
Anybody else have a ticket today?

Punish her.

She's had an almighty telling off, was considering wagging my finger, but stopped short...

Only because she would knock you, the fck, out.

I got a parking ticket on the first day of driving in Canada.

It was for facing the wrong direction

That's when I found out you can only park on the side of the road that matches the direction of travel.

I remember a load of cars being booked for that outside the Baglan Club in the 80’s.
I don’t know if it’s still a law here though.

Parking on the road Rules 238- 252. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/legal/parking-guide/
The Highway Code isn't the law, but many of its rules are in fact legal requirements under the Roads Traffic Act, which you can be prosecuted for contravening.

You may be fined, given penalty points on your licence, disqualified from driving, or even sent to prison.

Here's what the Highway Code says for parking on the road:

Do not park facing against the traffic flow

Very interesting.
I doubt a lot of people know that.

I didn't, don't think it came up when I was taking lessons either.

The one about parking against the traffic flow isn’t a law. Although it might be depending where you are and what time it is.

I think its during night time and yeah probably dependent as to where you are parked, I'm not sure.

Driving our works vehicles, you've got to park with the flow of the traffic, in gear handbrake up [of course] wheels turned into curb and mirrors tucked in. Naughty boy drops if you caught not doing so
