Kim Hellberg - Now’s the Time

I think he means Wagner, I think he was Klopps actual best man at his wedding 🤷‍♂️
Good record. Took Norwich job and got them to plauoff final then fired the next day after just 6 months in charge.

Took Huddersfield up and keot them up for one season

a feat regarded by bookmakers as improbable and described by The Guardian as "the Premier League's greatest survival story", with Wagner in particular noted as "a leader of rare charisma and intelligence."

No compensation to pay and Klopp as an advisor too maybe

Modric, Snoop, Klopp and Vagner. What could possibly go wrong. Oh yeah Hellberg!!!!!!!

For me the reson I was ok to turn the page on Sheehan was the total lack of priority given to our attacking play. Whle he was rearranging the defensive deckchairs to make us solid, we were literally bottom on every championship attacking metric. My eyeballs were bleeding at the lack of creativity and lack of will to change it.
It is generally accepted that 45 points (or thereabouts) avoids relegation - as Mrs J would say - think about that!
You need to draw EVERY game to be safe and go unbeaten.
You would think a coach would prioritise winning games - which relies on scoring goals.
Winning 1 in every 3 games gets you safe - even if you lose the other 2.
FFS - IF there is any single thing that I want from the new coach - it is the mentality that we go out to win EVERY game and score the required number of goals - even if we fail we need to be relentless in pursuit of 3 points.
I think this is exactly the right line of thought--and why I'm open to Hellberg. I don't give much of a shit about possession numbers, but his teams do take shots and score. We've been woeful at both since the season started with the exception of Vip.

I'm willing to chance anyone who will up our attempt numbers, be it Hellberg, Carrick, or whoever. What stands out to me about Hellberg is ambition, and that should at least have him managing to win rather than draw.

From that fella on Reddit who had Gyokeres and Widdel correct

We will see if 48 hours was too optimistic. Kim Hellberg has agreed the contract conditions and negotiations are under way with his club.. Only details left with his club and regarding staff questions. Could be done today as expected but may take another 24/48h. Hammarby wants £250k, Swansea prefer not to pay anything, but conversations are very positive.

Reading between the lines, seems Hellberg has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave with a rumoured 250k compo fee.
If Swansea are not willing to pay and Hellberg quits to come and manage us then there will be a tribunal which would probably come in lower than 250k.

If they are playing the game that they refuse to pay anything then it would suggest that things are pretty firm in regards to personal agreement with Hellberg. If Hellberg wants to bring his backroom staff then the fees will go higher so it would seem Swansea might just be playing a bit of hardball knowing they have Hellberg on side.

Or it could all be rubbish and they are eyeing someone else up 🤣

Seems reliable because it’s being reported elsewhere now regarding the fee etc.

Kim Hellberg is on site in England to meet with Swansea and negotiate his personal terms. The Swede remains the club's top candidate in the search for a coach and wants to finalize things with Hellberg.

Looks like our new manager.

It just feels to me like another potential appointment made off the back of fancy stats and heatmaps, like with Martin and Williams. We're taking a risk on a coach whose numbers may stand up to a certain extent but, crucially, at an inferior standard to the division we're in.

Look at Tim Walter and Johannes Thorup from last season - parachuted in from nowhere, struggled, got sacked. Going back a bit further you had Duff with us. Bulut at Cardiff came with the sort of narrative now surrounding Hellberg, but we know how that ended.

Sorry to put a downer on things but to me, it just feels like an enormous and unnecessary risk of making the same mistakes we've made previously.

Genuinely interested in who you think we should go for? I'm not entirely sold on Hellberg, but I can see the appeal

Bristol City v Swansea City
