Eyes will jump to the high passing + possession stats at Hammarby, but look at the difference between there and his Varnamo team. I'm not massively keen on Hellberg, but that does demonstrate a versatility lacking in every one of our managers since... Rodgers?

Michael Duff said and done the same, what a revolutionary he ended up.. I'll say it, and always will.. except the top 5 leagues in the world, all the others don't know what they're doing

Not for me, Duff was clearly more of an off the ball coach who emphasised work-rate, much like Sheehan. Hellberg seems to want to play with the ball and attack quickly. Not an expert on him or anything but it seems completely different to what Duff was doing.

Just from looking at articles and what people have said about Hellberg, his style doesn’t sound as patient as Russell Martin. Possession based but faster and with purpose. Just looking at clips of Hammarby, they move the ball much quicker than we do.

Our team will soon put a stop to that sort of malarkey.

I think Hellberg looks a good fit. Huw Jenkins had a philosophy of only appointing managers who had not suffered failures in their careers to date - he thought it would create a fresh and enthusiastic environment with Managers who are climbing the ladder, rather than those who were on a downward spiral in their careers.

I’d much prefer someone like Hellberg than Mowbray, Corberan, Wagner etc

Hellberg also has 5 years experience as a Manager unlike Sheehan, Williams & Martin who were all inexperienced managers which I think was a main factor of their demise

That last paragraph is key.

He does have experience even if it’s in a relatively easier environment.

Sheehan was much more of a punt than someone who has five years success as a manager.

I can’t pretend I know much about him but I’m definitely more optimistic. It does feel more fresh than many others are suggesting.

His possession stats are far more in the Martinez//Rodgers area.

Around 60% suggests are more offensive style to say 70% which is a much more negative retention style for example.

Maybe Manning is the answer. He's as well thought of at Narch as Rodgers was at Reading!

Rodgers was successful at Watford and then had a rough 6 month spell at Reading - but was still a young coach who had innovative ideas and was not set in their ways. My suggestion was that Jenkins didn’t want to appoint Managers who had been round the block for years with a mix of success/failure throughout their careers without really making a significant impact

I'm on the fence with Hellberg seeing that we didn't appoint him last time, but he certainly looks the job on paper. He's also much less possession-obsessed than Martin/Williams, as seen with his versatility at Varnamo, and seems to be much more adaptable to the squad he has, rather than a 'one tactic fits all' approach used by basically every manager we've had this decade.

Vital on Twitter has retweeted some Swedish fans talking about his style of play, and it seems much more in keeping with who we have
