The Levein group were putting in 20 million a season, League One clubs are not putting 20 million a season, our current ownership group have already invested 35+ million.. it's amazing how much you belittle me on here, nearly every poster, our accounts are out there, but ignore facts and have a pop like
Have a look at the financial reports of Oxford, Bolton, Derby, Reading… I could go on.

I don't know if it's already been covered on the topic, but our attendances this season are actually a bit higher than they were at the start of 2010/11. Indeed, we played Leicester around the same time of the year and there was actually about 2,000 fewer there then than on Saturday.

Our hardcore support seems to have coalesced around the 14,000 mark, which to someone who first started going to The Vetch when a crowd of 4,000 was seen as a good one is still a huge leap for us as a club from those days.

We do have a large floating, or to be uncharitable "glory" support who will start reappearing if we begin to challenge at the top end. That is unlikely to ever change. For me the gaps in the family stand are the biggest concern.

They seem to be trying things with the family stand but things don’t really seem to have budged (obviously need time).

A whole host of reasons why, but I’d imagine the average age of season ticket holders is going up and up which can’t be a good thing long term.

Entertainment is a big thing.

We've been as dull as ditchwater to watch since before COVID, and if I had a couple of kids I'd be thinking long and hard about forking out to attend the match (and the drinks, and probably a bit of scoff) only to have them fidgeting with boredom within 20 minutes. There have been more than a few games over that period where I'd have welcomed having a good book with me. Can't imagine it would have gone down any better with some TikTok addled twelve year old.

Poor Leicester.

On the South Stand discussion, I could have saved about £200 by buying our season tickets in that stand this summer. It's my son's first season ticket and I didn't know how invested he'd be (he's right into it at the moment thankfully), so I did consider it. At the end of the day, I decided I'd rather spend the extra money and be along the side with a decent view of the whole pitch. We did one game there last season (whichever game we won 2-1 with Peart-Harris heading the winner) and I hated the view of the game. If I had to buy seasons for 2 kids, I probably would have gone in the South.

The other thing that surprised me when I found out about it was that u14's must be accompanied by an adult. I'd gone to dozens of games on my own before I got to that age. Think I'd even had a Season Ticket. I get having a minimum age, but that seems a little high to me.

Back in the day it was even different turnstiles so no check if with an adult.

Poor, shallow, meek and gutless thread.

Back in the day proper Swans fans woulda laughed outta town some of the fragile, girly nonsense dished up by some of our soft, delicate fanboys, aye.

If anyone is interested in a points comparison:

Potter 2018 - 3-4-2 (13pts / +2 GD)
Cooper 2019 - 5-3-1 (18pts / +7 GD)
Cooper 2020 - 5-3-1 (18pts / +7 GD)
Martin 2021 - 2-4-3 (10pts / -3 GD)
Martin 2022 - 2-3-4 (9pts / -5 GD)
Duff 2023 - 2-2-5 (8pts / +1 GD)
Williams 2024 - 3-3-3 (12pts / +2 GD)
Sheehan 2025 - 3-3-3 (12pts / 0 GD)

And just for fun because I can’t sleep.

Martinez 2008 - 3-3-3 (13pts / -3 GD)
Sousa 2009 - 2-4-3 (10pts / -4 GD)
Rodgers 2010 - 5-0-4 (15pts / +2 GD)
As it stands and things don't change then we are heading for another mid table finish on those.
I know that 9 games doesn't define the season but watching the games hasn't really suggested that we can expect an upturn in fortunes.

How do posters think the board will feel with another mid table finish? That's a genuine question because I have no idea what they are expecting or hoping for.

A lot will rest on VP, ID and Culls. Get them scoring regularly and we will make progress. May take time but it is looking promising so far.

A lot will depend on them scoring but the battle is to see how they all fit.
Do we go with a 10, do we play Idah on the right side?
Will those changes take away from the team being a solid unit defensively.

It might be that Sheehan has too many questions and many are still unanswered regards his best team.

Based on their revamp of our recruitment team and the overhaul of the playing squad, you should be able to form a reasonably good idea of their expectations.

Looking promising? I've seen every home game this season, most have been very bang average performances, we have won 1 in 5 against some mediocre teams , and the football hasn't exactly been edge of the seat stuff with lots of chances created. Our only wins have been against 3 of the bottom 4 clubs , with nearly everyone beating Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday. There was a real buzz around the club at the start of the season, with the new ownership and the potential upgrade in players, but I'm afraid on the evidence i have seen so far there is another mid table finish looming. Will the owners be happy with that? I very much doubt it.

Aye. I very much doubt that we've spent the kind of money we have aiming for a mid table finish.
