• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Following the carnage of Christmas we resumed our weekly weigh-in. As feared, we've gained.

Mrs Bear up 1.7KG.
Me up 2.3KG.

Half the problem is having copious amounts of food left over from family visits. But thankfully that's gone now. Burp.

Weighed today after a week of cutting back and aiming for 10,000 steps per day. I am not dieting as I’ve still had a few “treats” and beers, but so far so good and some positive headway with a loss of 4lb.

Don’t weigh. Each to their own I know, but don’t do it. Judge your progress by how you feel and how your clothes feel.

I do some weeks where I burn 800-1000k a day (active burning I mean) for 4 or 5 days midweek, feel more toned but probably drop zero pounds (or even gain weight).

Do whatever helps you along the most, of course.

Two weeks of relatively clean eating and living, including a five mile walk each day, finds me three pounds down.

I can go cleaner as there’s still a little munch each evening on the remainder of the Christmas chocs, Christmas cake, etc. However this should cease quite soon.

By the way, what happened to Walt?

January has gone well for me. Have lost ten pounds since 1st Jan, mostly clean eating apart from a little blip last week through work events. Generally beer free Sunday to Thursday inclusive. Have walked 121 miles month to date, not quite achieving my target of 10k steps per day, but pretty close.

Good effort CM!

As per my Fitbit and similarly to you i've covered 129 Miles so far this month, Averaging 11.4k steps a day. I came down with a bit of the lurgy for 3-4 days in the middle of the month so didn't get a walk in on those days, still not shifted it properly even now but have lost 7lbs. Slow but steady progress I guess. The lighter I get the easier it'll become...

I had a massive s**t earlier so that must have shifted an ounce or two.

I’ve done a lot of that before each weigh in.

I’m no runner (was built for comfort and not for speed) but I do enjoy walking. Have made a point in the last month of getting work wrapped up, doing tea in an organised way and then getting out for an hour or so each evening.
