Lower League Football Starts Tomorrow in Cardiff

It's getting to the point where you begin to wonder whether Tan's doing it just to mess with them out of spite after all the stick he's taken. Put millions in, given them their highest two league seasons in most people's lifetimes and still loathed by the few who bother to turn up. I wouldn't put it past him to cut expenses to the point where the club is at least no longer costing him money and then just let them wither on the vine.

If that happened to any other club I might have been tempted to feel sorry for them.

Fuck 'em.

I hope 2026/27 brings them League Two football, and Tan is on his arse after losing the court case.

Nice quote by Anus on the forum....

"
We are lucky we are playing one of the weaker sides on the opening day.

Peterborough fans are very worried about this season as they have not hardly strengthened.

In League One, Peterborough United's wage bill was one of the lowest, with the club spending a relatively small amount per point earned."

Lol

The other risk you run with having a very young side is if you get into a run of bad results heads will drop and make things worse.
The two lower tiers are not a place for kids. Tackles are riper. Refs give less of a shit. Loads of seasoned old pros happy to kick people.

Unless they're that good that no one can get near them - no evidence of that in the first 45 mins - they'll get eaten alive.

Ironically they won't be able to hide behind the young player excuse if they don't win this. Peterborough's oldest player out there is 25 (the only player on the pitch to be born in the last century if you want to feel extra old...).

the much coveted colwill junior couldn't get in the Exeter team last year. They are shite and the amount of positivity lauded on them is laughable

Yep. You need experienced pros in a side, even if your youngsters are prodigiously talented. The Man Utd team of 95/96 that Hansen got roasted over still had players like Schmeichel, Irwin, Bruce, Cantona. Cole and Giggs (who by that point was almost a veteran) playing 30+ league games.
