Luke Throws Coleman Under The Bus?

The whole "I'm throwing my boss under the boss but I'm not really" approach never ends well for the person lower down the power ladder. I can't say that I can see Coleman taking that interview in a very positive light
But when Luke is portraying this dumb American with good intentions, trusting the wrong people, busy trying to do everything himself perhaps Luke has Andy fooled too.

Don't worry Andy we aren't going down

I'm not sure he's throwing his boss under the bus here. The only times he really mentions Coleman is when he says he (Coleman) hired people to do jobs and they didn't do it and then he talked about how hard he worked to try and fix things when it was clear the people he hired had failed him.

That he (Williams) was so clearly and pointedly throwing other people in the club under the bus, I can't imagine he hadn't talked with Coleman about what the talking points/narrative will be on this one. Coleman will likely sing from the same hymn sheet at the forum and there will probably be a couple of heads on spikes by then (and a new DOF announced) to go along with it to show how it wasn't him, it was those other guys over there, not me, the person running the whole show....mix in a bit of crocodile tears and that'll be that.

Who's he throwing under the bus though?
Who are these unnamed people who haven't done their job?
Or is he referring to Coleman in all but name?
Either way, this is Russ MK II and it's only ending one way. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Not a good look to blame your boss, publicly, one would say.
I said it a while ago, and I'll say it again, Lukey boy is working his ticket. He desperately wants out, and he wants his lumper 👍
Derby have just sacked Warne after a run of 7 defeats. Popcorn at the ready....

For what its worth, I thought he spoke very well considering the backdrop. That's not positive recognition of any part of the current situation, just that that was a good mix of honesty, insight and candor.

If as Williams says we were behind the clock, basically caught with our pants down, regarding the failure to sign Jacob Wright and Bobby Clark, then he has to be throwing Coleman under the bus, even if there were others involved in the process, the buck stops with Coleman, Williams is more or less saying Coleman was asleep at the wheel...

Just watched the press conference. Firstly, I must remind people that I've wanted Luke out for ages. I believe he has the right intentions. However, I feel he has no real idea of what he's doing or what needs to be done. I thought the interview was very interesting. I don't care that he threw people under the bus. They deserve it. They are the root poison of our club. He is clearly immensely frustrated with how we are run but I don't think he'd be any better as manager if the rest of the club was great.
I don't know how Yankee Doodle Andy will be feeling about his honesty. I think he's too stuck up his own arse to care. I can't see their working relationship being brilliant now.
Just when you thought our club couldn't become more toxic.
Anyone for a WWF Slamdown between the two ?

We are such a mess... there's a reason no one in our organization has experience at this level (save Marj). It's because we're cheap as sin, this all comes back to Coleman. It's literally management 101, you set expectations and then you hold check ins to ensure that progress is made. Rinse and repeat and trust is built. And Luke sounds happy as a clam compared to January, must be nice having job security knowing your pal is coming in.

And with regards to the scouting department, I'm half convinced we simply use the Football Manager database for scouting. It must be nice to be a scout for us, all the blame gets put on Watson, Coleman, the owners, Duff, etc and you just go and watch football for a living.

I still don't understand how the Jacob Wright thing fell through. There is not a real answer there.
I was wondering how long Williams actually had left on his contract because to maximise his sacking fee he needs it sooner rather than later. He spouts some proper cach mind.

Just very unprofessional to wash your dirty linen in front of the press. It will do nothing for morale and what semblance of cohesion there is in the squad.

As shit as Coleman is at running a football club, I would be fuming if my manager/head coach had done that to me in the press.

Somethings need to be said behind closed doors.

Frankly, I believe what Luke says about what caused the shocking window. Unfortunately, he is also a hire that is not doing their job competently. What this says about Coleman's ability to spot the right person for every job at the club is extremely worrying.
