It could be true, it could be bollocks. It could be Martin covering his arse in case it all falls through and he ends up staying. Perhaps he did say it and it was in the hope that the fans wouldn't get on his back during the game, which failed if the people reporting on the 'paedo' chants are right.

I'm just surprised that with all the nonsense that gets reported on as fact in football that some people are taking it as gospel and using it as justification for not wanting him as our manager.

I just think it belittles us personally and my feelings are if he’s felt the need to turn us down twice, then stay put. He had a mid 30s % win rating im sure I read earlier, and his team placed 13th in league 1, don’t force yourself to come here because we have been persistent, stay at MK.

It sounds like a really awkward situation to be in for him and personally, if questioned by someone I’d probably never see again, I’d be saying whatever it I had to to make my afternoon a bit more pleasant.

He’s leaving somewhere he’s settled to come to the other end of the country to a club which is, at best, in transition and at worst on the slide. I don’t know why anybody would expect him, or any manager worth their salt, to be walking over hot coals to come here

I’m not expecting him to, but if he isn’t 100% convinced then stay where you are. It’s not a normal thing to say to a journalist about a club you’re allegedly joining, questions like that are easily deflected.

A poster on other forum also allegedly has a mutual friend with him and actually spoken to him, he said he had no interest at all in coming to us. That though, is just a rumour as I have no idea how reliable guy is who said it.
