• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Just bumping this thread from February. I've been adamant that Martin is a chancer and finally you're all seeing the light.

Managers with zero credentials always make me sceptical. It's not like he was managing a club like Stoke/Boro/Reading before us and doing really well.

He was doing a crap job at League 1 MK Dons for god sake.

People react to what they see in front of them. When Rodgers was appointed the Swans fan base reacted with a massive meh.

Managers who are doing really well with clubs like Stoke/Borough/Reading won’t be coming here under our present circumstances. We couldn’t improve either their wages or their prospects.

Very true, I don't disagree with any of what you've posted.

But I was getting some harsh words said to me last season. Sometimes, it's just obvious when a manager isn't right.

This 'Swansea Way' pish needs to die, too. I watched us play kick & chase at the Vetch in the 90s. We've only really been a possession side under Rodgers, maybe for a bit of Laudrup's reign.

Just get in a manager who can be pragmatic and work with what he's got. Stop trying to make us Man City v2. It's embarassing.

It's easy to claim a manager is a bad appointment practically from day 1 as you have a 50/50 chance of being correct.

Unsurprisingly a majority of fans chose to be more positive and hope that Martin would work out, because what's the fun in being a supporter if you're always expecting the worst?

With this guy the doubters have not been brought around to believe he will eventually come good. With the one's who believed in him they are losing or lost the faith in him.
I certainly don't rate him but I would be delighted if something finally clicked and we went on an unbelievable run of winning. However to get things to click into place you need to put the right pieces in the right places. He's not doing that.

And cut out the nonsensical faffing about at the back.
