Chance this one will be dragging on then if the reports tonight are anything to go by. Just let the man go ffs

Steve and Jase have previous.

“We won’t accept a penny less than …….”

Even if it screws up our off season plans.

Few people suggesting Martin has turned them down/Southampton won pay up.

Steve Cooper situation here.

Don’t know how betting markets usually work but I find it strange that you can still place bets on the next Southampton manager, normally if there’s a clear favourite it gets suspended or taking off the site completely.

Risc and a few others can argue 'til their blue in the face but this has been a Cooper situation all along. The club want to relieve Martin of his duties and for that reason he wants out. If a club like Soton comes and takes him off our hands it greases the wheels and everyone comes out of it relatively unscathed, but where it gets untidy is when the hierachy at Saints suddenly shit the bed when they realise they're being sold a pup. Our board have to eat a shit sandwich where they just can't win and have to sack him or keep him, at which point he'd have to walk if not sacked. He won't walk so if Southampton wake up to the fact that they've been hustled we're going to be stuck with him for another year, against the wishes of everyone that has a stake in it. It's really not that complicated.

But it was all agreed for him to go? Why would we be stuck with him another year if it did fall through with Soton?

cos Russ wont go if there is no where to go to and the yanks wont sack him cos they wont want to pay compo.

I think they would if they’ve already decided they want a fresh start with someone new in, how many of us said they wouldn’t spend money on getting a replacement for Cooper?

Not but it was agreed he was off? So that was all sorted according to itch?

I don't know how an agreement can be made that Russ won't be our manager next season, if they were still actively planning for next year with him at the helm, they probably wanted him out for speaking out, I don't deny that, but he wasn't being sacked.

Anyway he's off to Soton. Hope we put 76 on them next season.

Martin's house is already empty, according to my postman. Talksport claiming an announcement could be made this afternoon

I keep telling you that I don’t know the terms of the agreement, just that an agreement was reached. You’re like a dog with a bone Risc.

Thank you BJ for trying to help the fella out.

From that article: "His team played the sort of possession football which has been the club's trademark for much of the last 15 years"

His brand of football is possibly the most tedious I've seen, most of the games ended with 75% possession and less shots than the opposition
