We are now an unrecognizable rabble of mid table mediocrity without Matty.

We are rudderless, flailing without a cause - just like our hapless no-knob Manager. Playing some random scurrying, scrambling schoolboy footy.
We were literally all of those things with him.

Grimes is gone, can't we just lock this thread and move on.
Au contraire - he's our benchmark, our last remaining thread to our unique playing heritage.

We should always strive to achieve and surpass those aspirational levels - without which we're just some random nothingness in this league, just like our noisy no-knob neighbors

That's what proper Swans fans think

Yeah, it is time to move on. As long as those people who thought he was the main reason we weren’t an attacking threat now have a long hard think and come to the conclusion they were numpties!

There’s a lesson to be learnt from all of this shit. One player doesn’t define a team, for good or bad.

I wish the Grimes lovers would explain this.

How is it that in 7 straight seasons playing largely in central or defensive midfield he has NEVER been injured if he’s genuinely putting it all out there every match, being combative, going for 50:50 balls, even 60:40 balls in his favour, putting his body on the line for us.

It is simply not possible that he’s doing anything other than making sure he’s never risking anything. Some players are better at avoiding injury, Ashley Williams was one, but to never ever be hurt is impossible as a midfielder if you’re giving 100%.

Every season he’s playing every single match. He may have missed one per season with a cold but that’s it. Have a look.
100%

Grimes had no aspirations for himself or the team. He never put enough effort in to make any sort of difference- and as captain never sought to raise others games around him. Fraud.

Grimes left to get away from a clueless, fraud of a manager. Fed up with his nonsensical, bonkers self-indulgent ways, crap man-management and BS. Many more of our MVPs wanted to do the same.

Williams had to go. His stupid nonsensical ways were largely masked by Grimes' unique abilities, commitment to our legendary playing heritage and ofc leadership on and off the pitch.

Without Grimes at the helm, we have been sinking, cast adrift unrecognizably from our proper playing identity, a mishmash of headless sheeple with no clue what they're doing on the grass.

We need a player or three to step up, emulate Grimes and reignite our unique playing identity - effective, efficient winning footy with controlled progressive front foot possession.

So Grimes uprooted his settled family life style and moved to Cov all because of Williams?.. why didn't Grimes ride out the circus which is where we are today gaffer wise?

You're mental!

And didn’t he praise Williams in his leaving post? He probably just liked the look of some extra £££ and decided to leave.

Nobody said 'all because of Williams'. Williams was one of three compelling reasons along with getting the chance to optimize his massive playing potential by working with Lamps, England's all-time record goal scoring midfielder. And ofc to now seek to max out on his earning potential having sacrificed so many more opportunities being golden-handcuffed to the Swans.

He carried Martin for so long, literally picked him up off the ropes when he was flailing so very badly on and off the pitch; he clearly didn't want to be doing the same and baby-sitting another fraud of a mini-me MArtin clone

Grimes tried his usual again....went to the Chairman saying how he has an offer on the table but wants to stay ..the club called his bluff...

He was never a part of our so called playing heritage he didn't play under Martinez, Rogers or Luadrup.
