• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Not sure it's true to say everything went through Grimes for the past 5 years. Under Cooper, most attacks went through Roberts or Bidwell didn't they. The football was dross yet pragmatic.

Didn't Grimes play as full back much of the time for Potter?

Christ yes, he was at left back wasn't he. I'd forgotten that.

I should just look at his managerial record, but is Monk still getting jobs based on his initial season and a half here? He hasn't had any success anywhere else has he?

Can't think of much else he's done. Couple of half tidy Championship finishes I think but that's about it.

4-2=3=1 was Rodgers, Laudrop set up in right way for Premier, But from what I see most successful Championship teams do not play in that wide way but put more players into midfield battle. With our available players the Russell Martin method of 2 central midfielders, 2 attacking midfielders (not necessarily wingers) and 3 CB good footballers and 2 wingbacks is going to win more games.

That second half was refreshing

What wasn't were the people behind us in the away end saying that from behind if you squint your eyes you could pretend LOB was Grimes. Seems some will hanker for him like they do for Russy.

And Luke when he goes, too.
Doesn’t surprise me at all. Quite often I wonder what game some people are watching. Chalk and cheese

I see LoB more a replacement for Allen. You know, that fella who has shares in Bupa..

Grimes was one of (if not our only, given Joey is crocked) our last vestiges of our stylised, much heralded playing style.

With LOB in that space we are now just some random run-of-the-mill nothingness. With no control, no nothing, no nada.

We need to get Joey back on the park, pdq…..

You on the spectrum or just a minor?.. 😅😅

Is that comment allowed, on here ?

Regardless, tonight was the wake up call many failed to see against BC.

We are utterly lost without the control, playing identity and leadership of Grimes.

Prem League LOB is a poor make-weight, despite being a Prem League player on twice the money.

That would hardly be Lewis O'Brien's fault!
If he is not an adequate replacement then it's on the lap of the owners.

Lewis O Brien was playing 2 games in 4 days. For a player who has not played much. Think a pass is needed. Agreed. Donut he is 🍩😂

Totally agree about Grimes. He always made himself available, had good technique, good at retaining the ball under pressure and moved the ball on the floor onto a white shirt, shame the last two managers never used him more effectively. LO’B is a different player who plays in a different position so can’t be compared to MG.
We’ll definitely continue to miss MG unless/until the manager/coaches work out a different playing style that suits the players we have rather then the shambolic headless chicken rubbish he’s produced the last two games.
