• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Remember playing parks footy 30 odd yrs ago where that kind of carry on was regular.

The modern day is pathetic.

Constant “grassing up” through video evidence.

Vast majority of blokes have had a scrap at some point in their lives and without context many would be in a lot of trouble.

I really don’t like this new modern mentality. But it’s done now and we have to live with it I suppose.

On the other hand, one punch can kill. So maybe anything that deters somebody from throwing that punch is a good thing?

If someone throws a cowardly punch and gets "grassed up" through video evidence, then what's not to like?
Perhaps the next person this coward decides to punch won't be so lucky...

I’m sorry guys I just disagree on this one. I think the modern mentality of filming everything has led to more and more people just “watching” the action. If someone is being racially abused, sexually abused, physically attacked we shouldn’t be standing there we should be helping out or calling the cops. I really think it’s a sh1tty mentality in a bid to go ‘viral’ but maybe I’m in a minority on this one.

My ex's brother in law did 9 years for manslaughter. He pushed a guy who fell backwards, hit his head and died. Idiotic take from rokinjerk as usual.

Provides HD quality evidence in cases that lead to prosecutions. It’s definitely a younger generation thing to automatically reach for their phones.

What has that got to do with the point I made? But you insult if it makes you happy.

I’m literally talking about intervening not standing by.

Have a think about what I’m saying.

If you were being attacked would you like someone to video for evidence or potentially prevent you getting hurt?

Rockin, you have no idea about a ruck between rugby teams, a fight breaks out every weekend, especially youths, the Police probably roll their eyes when you phone about naughty people on a rugby pitch fighting for the 150th time this year

But I do agree with you about youngsters with phones filming, but it isn't only youngsters, it's like those virtue signaling bikers going out of their way to film people on their phones

The rugby bit is a sideshow just making a wider point which I contend you refer to in following post.

Smart phones have dramatically changed society and I think for the worse
