New Manager

Brentford s second goal game from a breakaway when we had 8 players in or around the Brentford area.
I ve heard this cowardly thing but it certainly wasn't...but then it's all about opinions.
But it'd sad that since then 4 years ago we have had nothing to get excited about
Not a single shot on target in a play off final. It was pathetic and, believe me, everyone around me at Wembley was disgusted by our non performance that afternoon.

But how much of that was due to our expectations given how on our two previous visits there we had come away with the win

Therein lies the problem all of us fans look back with rose-tinted spectacles and beliefs as a result of our good times but not realising at times it wasn't as we believed it was.
Aa a result the myth of the Swansea Way has become exaggerated and blown out of proportion to the extent it now sullies our managerial appointments.

It's time for a reset and the new manager deserves patience from the fan base.

We had some great times in the past and I include the Tosh years and hopefully we will see more again.
Nowadays though with access to live football on the tv fans expect us to be performing as the likes of Man City et al despite the gulf in finances.
Yes we did it once but times change.

Cooperball whilst here was utter borefest hanging on for wins whilst defending for our lives, and he certainly didn’t do this style with Forest as I remember them being way more attacking and entertaining, that play off final was a shambles and I agree everyone around me that day was shocked at how we showed up with no shot on target, also that first time we reached play offs was a fluke that by some miracle a 7 goal swing happened on the last game of the season thanks to a bottle job showing by Forest, but yeah he’s long gone and he’s been a Premier League manager since, but would I have him back over a Martin/Williams? 100%.

Why do we need to be possession led? Why this is apparently a pre-requisite?

Don't we just want to be good, exciting, successful? Football styles come and go out of fashion, it's a cyclical game in many ways. I don't see why we'd want to anchor ourselves to a particular style forever as that leaves us with fewer options. We've become a slave to the idea of possession football for a while now, it brought us a decade of Grimes playing parody football and Martin/Williams sucking the life out of us one 'brave moment' at a time as they tell us how 'educated and sophisticated' we are as fans to try and butter us up to take more of this sh*te.

I'm not saying we should rule out any manager that likes possession football, but we need to weed out anyone who wants to come here and do the Martin/Williams playbook again, who thinks as long as we get 60% possession, we'll all be happy. Personally, if it was me, I WOULD be tempted to rule out anyone who talks about possession football. I just want them to talk about getting a winning team/culture together; if they mentioned the P-word: red flag.

A photographic version of everything we need to avoid...

Yet so many thought he was the best thing since sliced bread.

Loonies.

After being in charge for about three months the signs were there that he was a wrong 'un. It's mind boggling how many people made excuses for him then, and still do now. From playoff finalists to fifteenth place despite having players like Piroe, Paterson, Downes, Cabango, Ntcham, Wolf & Manning available.

The club would have been entirely justified in sacking him during his first season, never mind letting him stink the place out for two.

He had a gem in Piroe without his goals mostly individually created we would have finished lower than 15th....Piroe is again top scorer in the Championship now he plays in an attack focused side.

But the bearded one ....I'm afraid to use the "F" word here..... is for ever loved because he managed those wins over what was a poor Cardiff side.
I got what Duff said about preferring promotion over a Cardiff double but that was heresy to a lot of our fans.

Time to move on now park the "Swansea Way" as a part of our history when the club was in a different place that can never be recreated and as Pep is discovering football moves on.

Not willing to ride the crest of the wave the win over BRFC has created, as welcome as it was, I have no faith in getting the next managerial appointment right. Probably 70/30 negative.

I've seen an article on my Facebook thread this morning (won't read it) and the headline is shocking. I know these things can be clickbait and/or bullshit but if it has any semblance of truth it is shocking.
"PLAYERS DEMAND ALAN SHEEHAN AS PERMANENT BOSS...."
IF true, even to an extent, it shows that our players are rotten too. Did they manufacture Williams removal ? I mean, at times they really didn't look bothered. And, funny how they suddenly then turn up for Sheez (lol).
I still think Luke had to go (about January really) as he was clueless but it does make you think.

For what its worth Swansea Independent referenced this story, said there is absolutely no quotes or sources and that its pretty much written by journalistic hacks as click bait.
