New Manager

I had a look around on Twitter last night, couldn't find anything there.
Either it's nonsense or people are keeping it very close to their chests in case whatever it is actually happens

If Sheehan wins against the likes of Burnley, Leeds and Middlesborough we'd be foolish not to consider him of the gig on a full time basis.
We haven't got the players to win those games, did you see how poor we were tonight, up top especially, EOM is weaker than a kitten and offers very little Tymon goes missing up field and Franco is trying to cover every blade of grass, Cullen tries, MPH tries, O'Brien is quality and Vig we got little or no strength on the bench, any Head Coach/ Manager needs a magic wand to get consistency out of this squad.

Funny how quickly people fall into the trap of supporting the potential appointment of a temp manager.

Give him the job till the end of the season, been saying this for a while. But that for me is that.

You can't dismiss a guy because he's come through our system and not been a full time manager before. It should be decided on merit. He could be bang average or worse, he could be the next Brian Clough. That
should be determined in whatever process is used to select.

I remember the old Liverpool boot room boys, a string of managers appointed from within, each one had never managed a team before, each one seemingly better than the one before.

People can be to blinkered on things like this. The main issue with a lot of people is he's not a big enough name.

The lad could reach the play offs and it wouldn't be enough.

Can you imagine where Liverpool with be without Paisley, Fagan and even Dalglish.

Evans wasn't better than Paisley, and I wouldn't argue Paisley over what Shanks could have achieved with his boys if he'd stayed on either, although Paisley's achievemnet was amazing.

Anyway to have boot room succession it has to be based on previous success. Williams was a hapless, hopeless pile of toley and a monumental failure, with no redeeming features at all. To look at any internal applicant tainted with that (and Sheehan was very much a part of it) would be highly dubious. End of season, see what happens. If it looks ok, rolling 6 month contract at most.

The main issue for me is that he’s been an integral part of our coaching staff for 3 seasons or so and we’ve been absolutely bloody awful for virtually all of that time. If we had a Paisley in our back room team don’t you think we’d have at least had a glimpse?

He’s absolutely fine as a stop gap - he was last t8me as well. But if we are genuinely trying to find someone to take us forward rather than become an afterthought then we have to look elsewhere.
I’m grateful for the points though.

Why not just give Shee the job until the end of the season?
No rush as I don't see us being in a relegation dog fight.

To those who say he's unproven and no CV as the main man therefore too much of a risk;

Brenda didn't have much of a CV and had just been sacked by the mighty Reading.
Or the Tapas waiter, when he was offered the job.
Or Tosh when he came here back in the 70's

If you're expecting the likes of Guardiola rocking up here, I'd stop with the mushrooms if I were you
