New Manager

BBC reporting John Eustace is in the frame. He is is assistant at QPR and was temporarily in charge when we got thumped at Loftus Road in the final weeks of Potter’s time when Dan James didn’t run once at Rangel. Plays a high pressing game. Looks like the sort of manager we would go for.

John Eustace was on the shortlist when Steve Cooper got the job. If he is appointed you simply have to give the man a chance. If he is committed to a positive, attacking style of football then I’ll back him.

I’d need to see his PowerPoint presentation before I could back him.

Who is he?!

QPR’s assistant at the moment but five minutes ago he was 4/6 and now he’s 1/5 to be ours. Seems to me like it’s already done.

I’d never heard of him till about half an hour ago.

Narrowly missed out in the job at Doncaster a month or so ago.

I only know that because I looked him up, had no idea who he was.

I can’t believe we won’t appoint Toshack to be honest.

Sorry, but how on Earth can anyone know he plays a high pressing game.

He managed QPR for a handful of matches and then wasn’t appointed by them. And before that was manager of Kiddie in the whatever non league division they were in.

If he’s appointed so be it and he may be great, hopefully he is, but I just can’t see how anyone can comment on whether he would or wouldn’t appear anything other than relatively cheap.

On that note….. Angel come with him as assistant? As someone said earlier, still lives in area.

Why Rangel? He hasn't coached in his life. Needs to get into the Academy, U23s team or u18s before getting into the first team. Keep Tate there and let him mold with the new manager's ideas.

As I said, if he’s appointed let’s hope he’s fantastic, and I will certainly support him every inch of the way but in the past ten years we’ve had not far off three quarters of a BILLION pounds in revenue and we are trying to find positives about a bloke that a few weeks ago missed out on the job at Doncaster Rovers.

It’s a long way from Laudrup isn’t it.

Ummm...because I was at Loftus Road when he managed QPR and mullered us with a high pressing game....Doh!

Anyway - aside from all the reporting by media tonight - the same person who told me about Cooper on Saturday tells me that Eustace is a shoe in.

Make of that what you will, I'm tired and sleepy!

It's usually someone who hasn't been mentioned and a left field choice

Really surprising pick.

Slightly downbeat feeling after the news earlier now too.

Not doubting that he could be great but no great coaching career to speak of, it feels like we've reached rock bottom a little bit.

We'd be paying compensation too!

It does feel like we're preparing for League One, we're in for a battle this season
