Surely Truss will resign now? No matter how hard nosed she may be, working like that is the ultimate humiliation!

If she had an ounce of self respect and the tories had a milligram of moral fibre we’d now be waiting for next month’s general election. Sadly for the country neither have either.

They also know that there’s enough poorly educated, sh!tforbrains cheerleaders within the electorate to avoid total decimation if they can hold out for a year or two. The Tory party has finally come together and unified under the cause of putting the party ahead of the good of the nation.

My money’s on them keeping Truss in post but not in power because they’ll be desperate to avoid an election for as long as they can.

I cant see there being any chance of GE in the foreseeable future, turkeys don’t vote for Christmas and there’s no way 200 plus Conservative MP’s are going to volunteer themselves for unemployment. They’ll dig in and try to weather the storm, if things carry on as they are they’ll hope the next 2 years will provide some semblance of damage limitation. They’re also reverting old ground, look how often the Conservative MP’s are referring to their opponents as Remainers, the right wing press is also using the same language to describe those who’ve “trashed” the budget.
