• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

According to Football League World, should never have given in to him for the new contract which I assume is a healthy monthly package, half a good season in his career.

Would be happy for him to go if anyone offers to pay his wages. Doesn’t offer anything any more.

Frees up some squad space.

The modern day Kevin McLeod.

Was against giving him the new contract. At his age, with his injury record we were incredibly fortunate to get what we had from him last season. It was always going to extremely unlikely that he could replicate that sort of contribution.

Martin has confirmed both the Republic of Ireland international and Paterson are not injured at present.

"I'm really grateful for their contribution last season," he added. "This season I don't think there's been a huge contribution in terms of stats and goals. The bottom line is there were 18 players in the squad tonight who deserved to be in it more than the others. That's all there is to it really."

Sounds like that’s pretty confirmed he’s available for transfer, got his contract upgraded and looked shocking since as expected.

Pretty scathing of both Pato and Obafemi in his interview:

Not great that the stats were the first thing he mentioned. A significant part of the problem that is his approach to games.

He put himself out for Paterson when he was acting the arse last year, so he must feel let down. There’s no easy way back from that really. Truth is, Paterson has just reverted to his normal standard. His golden period was very very short. Obafemi has something and I don’t think he has been managed well, but also clearly has issues and might be unmanageable.

But stats….sheesh. The modern curse of football.
