I was on the bus last week with my 4 year old grand daughter and one thing I noticed was how close some of the branches came to actually touching people on the kerbside of the bus. There are far to many trees around Swansea and the UK generally that overhang into the road and can become a real hazard for motorists should branches break off. Think only last winter 1 huge tree crashed down onto Walter Road in the Uplands and only miraculously no one was killed. There must be loads of them around that could pose a threat , but very little gets done. There's an unhealthy obsession with trees here. You are more likely to get away with committing a major crime than actually be allowed to cut down a tree.

Surely that cannot be anything other than driver error?

Hope everyone is OK
Cant agree with the first bit. There will be different drivers on the route. If there is a tree hazard that can take the roof off a bus then it should be addressed before the route is set up. You want the driver looking at the road ahead not up in the sky every time he passes a tree.
On top of this we have massive driver shortages with routes being cancelled right, left and centre. Even less likelihood of continuity.
I would only blame the driver if he mounted a kerb. Even then you have to allow for errors by other road users.
I hope the resultant enquiry is fair and detailed.

All fair comment not going to try and disagree
