• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Saw Galbraith in a BBC article say something along the lines of "we're better than our results & league position suggest" and "we just need to be more clinical in finishing off teams".

Thought to myself that creating chances in the first place would be an idea.

I think 'more clinical' was the wrong way to put it, but if he's pointing out that we go 1-0 up a lot and fail to get a second goal while on top, he's spot on.

My fault for not actually reading the entire article too, to understand the context.
But the same point applies that going 1-0 up doesn't always win you games.
Against Norwich we had to reply on two Vipi rockets from nothing to win us the game. Outside of that we created f'all.

100% agree. Chance creation is the biggest area we have to improve for me.

Attacking is the hardest thing to get right. We have several new players up front and on the wing, and the existing players we already had we know can be very hit and miss. We probably need to persevere with some, but ship some of them on. And that's going to take time. I'm more than willing to give Sheehan until at least January to get that side of things right, maybe even the season.

Because at the other end, he has at least stopped us being the laughing stock we were under previous managers. I had started to become embarrassed about what we were under Williams and Martin. I'm not embarrassed anymore. And for me that's a start.
Yes - exactly this.. We are searching for a tactical approach that suits the personnel, and to date have failed.
However, we have talent - and this needs to be harnessed correctly.
Just for the record - in my opinion - this means playing with a genuine #10 that helps prevent our striker getting isolated (I have seen enough to give Widell a run in this position) two wingers who will take defenders on (Innoussa, Eom - and Ronald with a rocket up him) Actually all of them with a rocket!
The final piece is varying the attack to play through central areas - see Idah's goal at Chalton. Getting the ball in to the striker and #10 early to feet is a great option to keep the opposition guessing.
I think we are far better than we have shown - and I remain optimistic.

We are starting to feel personally targeted by this accounts tweets now. Surely he can find one of these tables where we are a positive.

At least if we aren't creating in open play - we have our mastery of set pieces to fall back on

Bored to death, but at least I've got some drying paint to examine at half time.
