• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Seems like a decent guy who has battled some demons over the years. As a football pundit my gosh he doesn't half spout a lot of nonsense.

Makes make smile and a little angry upon times when you have the knuckle draggers giving male pundits like him a free pass because of what is between his legs.

Can't really understand when they got rid of Thompson, Le Tissier and Charlie Nicholas why they kept him , unless they were concerned what the impact on his mental health might have been. Never listen to the pre match pundits rabbling on for an hour before kick off, mostly failed managers advising what they would do. And now to make matters worse, and the final straw , got that obnoxious prick Mike Dean giving his opinion on refereeing decisions. He give one of the worst penalty decisions I've ever witnessed for those up the road against us at Ninian Park.

I think they were past their sell by date and Le Tissier has gone to prove he’s bit of a weirdo

I suspect that they kept him on for humanitarian reasons.
He came up with a good line about inconsistent teams being like a bag of Revels about 15 years ago and repeats it regularly ever since. He must be due another good line soon.

I suspect they kept him for the same reasons and I quite like that, they must think quite a lot of him.

As human being he seems like a lovely guy and he's good value for a laugh when he's doing punditry work.

Still find it interesting that some will give him a free pass because he's a bloke compared to a female pundit who talks complete sense yet shouldn't be on the TV.

I was chatting to Thommo in the boarding queue at Liverpool John Lennon a few year back. Nice guy in fairness but game has moved on since his day.

Surely that also applies to Merson then?

To be fair when they got rid of the old guard I was disappointed and it took me quite some time to warm to the new guys, Clinton Morrison was really annoying when he started but I don't mind him now.

I liked the banter and stories from the old guard and Jeff Stelling was great with that, whereas now the pundits are generally a bit boring, espically Tim Sherwood. Also without being controversial I don't think Sue Smith adds anything to the show, not that she's a bad pundit (she's not), I just think the womans game is different sport and her presence just tones down the banter a bit.

As for Mike Dean, I don't mind a ref being there but why him, he lacks any personaility and is still a prick.

Bottom line for me like a lot of things these days it a bit too sanitised and for this reason I don't tend to watch the full show anymore.

I always watch BBC Final Score, not a huge fan of the Sky Sports panel, BT Sport score was good with Savage and Sutton bickering back and forth.

Despite him being a head slapper, I don't actually mind Jason Mohammed.

Can't be watching Jason Mohammed he's a total pratt (and not because he's Cardiff fan).

The BBC have total gone with their football coverage

MOTD is boring and the worst presenter is Mark Chapman who has the most boring voice on TV
Football Focus has been terrible for years, pretty much since Ray Stubbs left.

Bring back Grandstand I say

Someone mentioned on the old Twitter that Mohammed would block someone simply for being from Swansea, thought I'd see for myself, within 24hrs I was indeed blocked 🚫, despite never having tagged or mentioned him. 😂

If you're interested he talks openly about his demons here.

42mins but can always skip some. Watched a few and they can be a bit hit and miss.

To an extent -but Merson was really a generation later. 14 years difference in age- Merson started his senior career as Thompson retired

I watch Final Score with the sound on mute
Jason Muhammed so annoying.

Match of the Day 2 I like more football less chat .

I like Mark Chapman the Monday night club is well worth a listen .
Chris Sutton good knowledgeable with a dry humour .
Lots of good guests .

Worse commentator for me JP why use
10 words when he uses 99 .
Less is more for me

I quite like Merson.. especially when he is on soccer Saturday watching a game eating his snacks and not be able to pronounce half the players names he's watching. Sue Smith is very knowledgeable, Sherwood tries too hard to be funny which makes him less watchable.
