I am always bemused when some club is reported to be “considering” a bid.

They must be considering it out loud or the reporter is a mind reader or it’s bullsh1t.

Or is the players agent putting it out there....

Without doubt.

Martin claims further transfer business is not dependent on Piroe going, I’m not so sure he’s being fully honest with that.

Selling him for 15-20M will allow us to bring in 3/4 players, plus we already have Obafemi who can reach 20 goals.
2 points bud selling him for 15-20 mill will allow the yanks to trouser 15-20 mill, 20 goals wont get you promoted

I'm no fan of our owners, but think it's been clearly proven by now that they're not 'trousering' anything. We run at a loss and sales are needed to keep us out of debt.

So what would happen if we didn't have any salable assets then for arguments sake

We'd play kids the following season and get relegated.

We borrow money, probably through Silverstein again, and potentially put ourselves into more trouble down the road.

I'd like to say we could clear our remaining high earners and then live within our means while building for the future, like we did during our previous stay in the Championship. I just don't think it's the same league any more, the amount of money needed to compete in this league seems to have shot up.

Could you see an Ashley Williams level talent being here for 3 seasons these days? A player of his quality around the age of 24-26 would be snapped up by a PL club after 1 or 2 seasons and few Championship clubs are in the financial position to say no.

The cycle of buy low, sell high is very difficult as you keep having to get it right on new signings, plus it's hard to build a promotion winning side when you have to sell your best players every summer. But short of being bought by an Arab state or a sugar daddy, what other approach is there other than spend beyond your means and pray it works out?

I've got a bit a feeling that there's a belief starting in the squad. They want to be part of Swansea getting promoted and don't want to go now.
Piroe included
Auto promo
Lump on

Auto promo may be pushing it a bit.
If we can fix the silly mistakes at the back then with our midfield and attack we can certainly have a solid tilt at the playoffs though.

Been done to death hasn't it? Again and again.

Nixon saying West Ham are in for Cornet. That was one of the clubs I had been told about, maybe no clubs willing to bite at the price tag.

West Ham just signed that striker from Serie A for 30M also.

Still only had Antonio. After a couple.

Can’t see Piroe wanting to be a bit part player but then again I’m sure I read something saying he didn’t expect to play as many games as he did for us.

He wants premier league move though like anyone else, he won’t be guaranteed games anywhere he goes.
