Piroe

I know, sounds like a shot in the dark, to try and look impressive if it comes to be. But genuinely can't say why I thought it, as don't want anybody getting in bother over it. Anyway, looks like it will be later rather than sooner now.

You snooze, you lose!!!

I hope he goes to Everton and would rather he didn’t go to a team in the same league. Leeds, Leicester and Southampton have all had ages to thrash out a deal but haven’t. The money in the bank earlier in the window would have allowed the Swans to get their businesses done early doors and allowed the squad to prepare properly and gel.

Oh dear.

I look at all transfer speculation with a degree of scepticism, but I have been wondering if Piroe's thinking was to go if a big enough financial package is offered to him, but stay on and leave on a free next season if no offer was rich enough for him. After all, no transfer fee means more clubs making him offers, bigger signing on bonus, more money for his agent Dad, etc...

It's common knowledge now that the signing club agrees terms with the player before even making an offer to their club. So it could be that we never receive an official offer as no club offers a contract that makes Joel say yes. Would imagine that will have a big knock-on effect on the club's finances.

Sounds like Winter promised his agent something the club is no longer prepared to do.

His agent is his father.

This is the worst case scenario, potentially an unmotivated player with eyes only for a massive payday in 12 months time.
Hopefully he'll see the bigger picture and bust a gut to attracted a bigger lumper...

He will be gone before the window closes I reckon.

He’ll be motivated to score goals whatever happens, it’s how he gets his buzz. He cost us a couple of million and if he walks away for nothing so be it. He can’t be criticised for his effort or his goal return so if we can’t give him Premier League football it won’t be his fault. Looking forward to him staying a Swan.

I'd be more worried if it was a player who was covering lots of ground in a game, going in for tackles regularly, etc. You always wonder if the threat of injury in a contract year has an effect.

Not really Joel's game though. He's good at putting the ball in the back of the net regularly and should be motivated to do that as much as ever to attract as many potential clubs and big money offers as possible.

Terrible news for us from a financial standpoint though, if it's true.
