Kieran Tierney, Daniel Sturridge, Liam Walsh..........

Two types of players, those who don't miss a minute of game all season long and then those who can injure themselves looking in the mirror.

I wonder how many of these injuries are psychological or their bodies aren't designed to cope with the demands of being a pro athlete.

Its long been said about Daniel I'm pretty sure that Klopp said it about him, but one of his managers did.
I've said that I thought Liam was similar, the mind is a very powerful organism, don't know about Tierney never had any thoughts about him apart from thinking he is overrated, IMO.

The negative voices are always louder than the positive ones.

Some players put their body on the line week in week out and others just don't have that same mentality, possibly?

I've played with a few on either side of this fence.

Some will overcome anything to get on the field and some with doubts won't, its not an open and shut book though, unless you really know the person/player, only the person/player will know, like I said the mind is powerful and its unfair to criticize.

Not sure it's unfair to critise. If you have a player in your team/squad that you can't rely on it week in week it out the impact it quite tangible.

Thing is you don't know what their mind is telling them, a mere twinge to most is no doubt brushed off, but not so much with other's.
Its a tough one to call!

So, basically, players are different both mentally and physically? Now there's a surprise! 🤣

At the same time there are some players who mentally are fine but the problem lies either in their genetics or their technique. Montero is an example of the latter, human muscles are just not designed for the kind of rapid start stop and change of direction that Montero employed - to put it simply a player with that style of play will always have a shorter shelf life and the time they are out and the regularity of the injuries will only increase as time goes on and the muscles and joints break down.

Michael Owen had issues with Hamstring issues, players with pace have been known to have issues due to their fast twitch muscles, Walker seems to be an exception, Vinicius Jr another and many more that I can't think of right now, is it diet, training regimes life styes, then again its amazing that Walker hasn't done his groin in with his off pitch shenanigans 😂

Ryan Giggs put his longevity down to pilates amongst other things.
