I said this on Twitter a few weeks ago but I honestly believe people have lost all track of what association football is all about.
I think part of football in the 21st century is too much about the manager trying to outwit the opposing manager,if you get my drift.
Instead of the Christmas tree formation with three at the back,a diamond in midfield and one in the hole just go out and play a bit of football.
It’s not that hard really is it and whilst the majority of people would like to play like Brazil and score goals like Carlos Alberto in the 1970 World Cup final it’s just not possible so just kick the f*cking ball to a teammate at every opportunity.

I agree with you and without sounding like Uncle Albert football is a simple game. Do the basics well and it's a good foundation to win games. A bit of extra thought in training is the bonus, but without the basic skills it leads nowhere.

i'll tell you whats ruined football, money and greed. been saying it for years.
But, yeah the concept is pretty straight forward, to score more goals than the opposition, rocket science it ain't.
As for managers half the time they are trying to save their own ar**s, and as for players most are mercenaries.

That's what happens if you drop and not tackle 😀

It’s a great point Clive and I also thought we were very week in the tackle last night too.

It's been said many times that the art of tackling/defending has changed. I'm not on about the old style Leeds but it's all about dropping for position and trying to tap the ball away when tackling.

Well said, there’s far too much emphasis on playing a certain way by too many people.
As long as you’re legally putting the ball in the net it more than the opposition it shouldn’t matter but that’s another issue,we’ve all see stupid Swans fans saying they don’t mind losing as long as it’s a good game, the object of the game is winning you utter fućkwits.
If you want to be entertained give Robbie Williams a bell.
