"Under an embargo, clubs are allowed to sign players on loan or free agent deals if they have less than 23 players of professional standing in their squad"

Is what I've just read. Not sure what 'professional standing' means - over 18yrs old? Over 21?

Think they have 20 over 21 years old players currently.

Edit: from the EFL webpage: "Professional Standing = is any Player who has made one first team appearance (including as a sub) for any Club in any first team competition (EFL Trophy appearances do not count)."

So with King, Davies, Colwill, Bagan, Etete who've all definitely played professional games, they are over-staffed and shouldn't be allowed to sign anyone else.

But they already have. Ridiculous.

"If a Club is under Embargo and has 23 players of Professional Standing, can they acquire new players?

Clubs under Embargo with 23 or more players of Professional Standing cannot register players.
Should the Club sell a player/players or terminate existing contracts, then they would be able to ‘staff up’ to ensure they have 23 players of Professional Standing within their squad.
A player of Professional Standing leaving the Club on loan does not reduce the number of eligible players the Club is deemed to have"

They're under a FIFA umbongo rather than an EFL one, I believe. Under that, they can sign frees and loans.

Apparently they aren't under Embargo, it's a 'fee restriction'.

So they can't sign as many free agents as they want and pay them as much as they want.

See this thread has caused a stir on the twit, he’s got a point bringing up that post to be honest though, embarrassing as f*ck.

Going big with the wages again though Cardiff, Ramsey, now Karlan Grant, hopefully end in tears.

Yep, two (currently) rubbish players on massive wages. Splendid stuff.

Ramsey was a super little player in his time, now long gone, Grant was always cack.

Yes if he can stay fit (which is a big if) he'll be one of the best players in the division if they play to his strengths (again, big if). Anyone saying he's crap is deluding themselves.

The outpouring is extremely overkill though. They actually do believe the nonsense Abbatwatto spouts.

It could go either way, my gut feeling is that his legs have gone, the injuries have taken their toll and his body is alot older than the average 32 year old footballer, but if he’s motivated and on it, he’s a big problem.

We didn’t lay a glove on him when he went back on loan and they beat us at the Liberty under Rodgers.
