• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out.

Ronald

This is an odd one that certainly isn’t true but it would be good business from our perspective. Wonder if this is being pushed out there to drum up some interest.

I’m with SwanseaBoy, but for the right price—doesn’t need to be outrageous—he should be off. Not to be too data obsessed, but he’ll be 25 in June, and he is highly dependent on his physical attributes. Those are probably at their peak for the next two seasons and then begin regressing.

We need to sell soon otherwise he’ll be a flat or declining asset, and if another team sees the opportunity to develop him further, we ought to let them.

From a statistics perspective you could say that he has excellent defensive contribution and his positional sense to actually BE in attacking situations is excellent. His judgement and execution to take advantage of such situations however is very low.

He had a good start to the season with 3 goals in 4 games, then practically nothing until right towards the end of the season.

3100+ minutes in a season for a winger demonstrates excellent fitness
4 goals and 5 assists in those games gives him a goal involvement every 6 games or so

By contrast Morgan Whittaker (one of our own that was bombed out of the club by a combination of Russel Martin's "man management" and the former owners hoping to make a quick buck) had 14 goals and 7 assists in 40 appearances giving him a goal involvement in just under every other game

It is bruising seeing players like Whittaker and Kyle Joseph playing for playoff contenders when they couldn’t get a kick down here. Joseph on 8 goals and 5 assists from 27 starts. Better output than most of our forwards this season.

Always thought it was odd that Martin seemed reluctant to give Whittaker a chance when he seemed like a good footballer.

Joseph literally has worse stats than both of our forwards and only marginally better than Cullen in his swiss army knife role

To be fair I was more talking about our wingers and Joseph has been playing on the wing for quite a lot of this season I think, not a bad goal tally considering that.

Very fair points, but they are also very different players. Ronald is more of your traditional winger while Whittaker was always more of a striker who it seems sometimes plays on the wing for Middlesbrough. That's not to take anything away from Morgan. We certainly didn't give him his opportunities and fair credit to the young man for finding those elsewhere.

I suspect it's because Martin was a twat.

A lot of people have it in for Whittaker because he apparently dissed Russy to his face. That only makes me like him more. He certainly wasn't wrong to do so.
