• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

He’s turning the ship around with his half time inspiration.

Pumps ahoy.

Lose tonight and surely the chop has to come sooner rather than later.

If he were a racehorse, they would have put him down by now.
His race horse would be over coached, worried about keeping possession of the hay bale and passing wind %, whilst the untrained donkey just gets on with the job in hand and strolls over the finishing / goal line.

Football is a simple game when played correctly.

Postecoglu is another 'process' manager. It was to our benefit of course, but he's gone into Forest with a season already underway and immediately tried to get them to play his preferred style of football, even though it was a disaster at Spurs. Now Forest can't buy a win. Same with Amorim at United. It worked for him at one club, so he's not budging even when it's clearly a disaster in the PL.

The greatest managers can adapt their tactics to the players available in their squad at that moment and play to their strengths.

Square pegs in round holes rarely works.

They are also able to use substitutions to improve not weaken the team.

Easier said than done in general.

For me the greatest manager of all time is Carlo Ancelotti and that's basically his whole thing.

Incidentally, the team that the beat the other bunch of Jocks in Europe last night, was Braga who we beat in Europe all the way back in 1982. Seems being terrible in Europe is a city wide problem for Glasgae.

Crikey, they must be knocking on a bit now.
