S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 1 PNE 1 | Att: 20,233 | 24/02/26 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

Snoop nor his entourage came out for second half. Shame because he saw the worst of us in the first 45. Did something I never do but my bladder had other ideas. I left just before equaliser went in. Next time will wear a nappy!
Or maybe you need to leave a bit earlier next time so we can get 2 and the 3 points? :ROFLMAO:

Still think it's clear Matos is trying to find right formula with midfield. I don't know why he doesn't play Yalcouye more often. My biggest complaint really is that I feel he has gotten this wrong a few times. Its all a learning process. But think tonight should tell him that combination doesn't work.
If I was to document his thought process for his starting XI, it was a case of keeping legs fresh. He’s maybe come away tonight with some stronger belief that Key can take care of the RB position, enabling him to get Galbraith back into the middle.

True. Though I understand why he didn't Start with Widell due to his recent injury etc. But that was a game too soon for Walta. Yalcouye should of started.

I like Yalcouye and definitely feel he should have played more this season - the timing of his sending off didn’t help as he was just getting up to speed.

Assuming he’s not going to be back with us next season I’d rather give Widell and Walta minutes in readiness for next season (clearly starting Walta tonight was a mistake though)

Many will disagree but I’d also be playing Galbraith in midfield if there’s a decent chance he’s with us next season, as he’s the one player we’ve got who I think can control a game and change the momentum if things are going against us.

Yep. Whilst he thought his plan was solid, it quickly became apparent that Walta was having a mare.

I’ve just mentioned this above. I think Matos comes away from tonight with better confidence in Key. He had a better second half than Galbraith did in the first half.

As many said think the RB situation has really effected us. Get that sorted first thing in the summer. Would of liked Ward to be in that role even if his legs have gone. Yalcouye would love to see next season, but understand Walta and Widell are players we need to invest in. In no way am I saying Walta will not be good or anything and it's really unfair to judge him. But I'm not seeing what many saw in the last game. Its gonna take time. It did with Widell.

I know Vic sees him every day in training, but my impression is Walta's not yet match fit and hasn't had enough time to adjust to the Championship. He shouldn't be starting.

Very impressed with Key tonight. I know they were on the back foot second half which meant he could go forward more, but he got more good crosses in than Ronald has all season. Bit of a risk playing him at right back against Ipswich, but if we don't take the game to them, they'll thrash us anyway, so put Galbraith in midfield and put Key there.
Why not start with Ward RB and put Key wide right instead of Ronald and then Galbraith into midfield with either Franco or Widell with Stamenic behind them. Keep Nunes on wide left.

Agree Walta not ready yet and was surprised to see him start but keep giving him 20 minutes at the end.

No idea what happened there with Walta. Showed promise in last game.
Stupid question do we know his natural position? It seems Fulton, Franco and Walta all were to similar. He might be better with Stamenic in the team. But he shouldn't be starting. Needs to get up to speed.

We can blame Matos for the first half, but I’m impressed with the way he fixed it.
Not sure I blame him for the first half. Walta had looked decent, Fulton has been excellent and we know what Franco can do. For whatever reason it simply didn’t click. I’m sure they will be able to pick something out through their analysis.

It’s good to know Galbraith can play right back (and it’s a decent option for some home games), but assuming we’re targeting a right back in the summer I’d be using the next 12 games to work out what combinations of Stamenic, Galbraith, Franco, Widell and Walta work well together in readiness for next season.

Obviously he’s also got Fulton & Cullen who’ll play a part in that midfield 3 at times next year (whether some fans like it or not!)
