S25/26 | The Match Thread | Swansea City vs Bristol City | 12.30 on Saturday

Yes I realise that, the issue is if Swans were the Main game (Sky call it the linear broadcast) on SS+ you can record it. If, however Swans were the Red Button option (i.e. not the linear broadcast) you can't record it.

At the moment the Sky Go TV schedule allows me to record Swans on Saturday so I can infer from that that we are the linear broadcast.
Ah, OK didn't realise all of that, hope it works for you

Yes you are correct, channel 404 is SS+. But, there is a main (linear) broadcast on that channel and once you fire up that channel on your Q box, you are offered via the red button, other games as options. You cannot record those games, and it's not completely clear which game, being offered on this channel 404 is the main game and which are the "red button" games.

I use the Football on TV website to see which games are on where, but even that will only telle that a game is on SS+, it doesn't say.of the game is the main one or a red button option
Yep, sorry I wasn’t clear. The Swans game is the main (linear) one on 404 this Saturday

No worries mate, thanks for taking the trouble to reply. Just out of interest and for future reference, how do you tell which game is the main (linear) broadcast?

On the Sky planner it’s always listed (at least a few days before). I’m not saying they’ll never change it but that’s not been the case so far (since they started showing all 1230 games on the red button) - same for the midweek games.

Glancing at my Sky go app it appears that mirrors what’s on the TV so you should be able to just check on there too

Yes I agree with you there. I have assumed that as the Sky Go app allows me to record the Swans game, by inference that can't be a red button game.

I’m sure you already know this but dug the attached screenshot out as well in case anyone needs the info (what a way to spend the morning off work 😂)

*Sky Sports+ has since moved to 404 on the Sky Q planner though

That's useful. Occasionally I would like to record streams either from Swans TV or the red button. I have found AZ screen recorder which works with my Samsung Android tablet but there is a file size limitation which means I can only capture about 30 mins of video. I need to work out on AZ how to record at a lower resolution as this makes the file size smaller but the picture quality will be lower. I'm not adept enough with technology to work out how best to capture video
