• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Definitely feels like 2 points dropped, he'll freshen it up for Wednesday so hopefully that'll mean starts for Widell & Inoussa.
Francos injury looked like a clash of knees but he seemed to be moving OK so precautionary I guess.

Not sure the critism of Idah today is justified. He got into good positions and wasn't given the best service. He grew into the game and stretched there defense. The problem we have is VP is that damn good at the moment, it highlights the smallest amount of negatives for anyone who plays in that role now. His goal will give him a heap of confidence and its good to have a different option. I'm not saying Idah is going to be great. He got us a point so let's just be happy about that
He took his goal well and seemed to get a bit of confidence from it but he was bloody awful before the goal.
He needs to be doing more.

Nice to read others views regards Idah that don't follow the same route as my own.

But we looked better again with it though. He's got to keep going with it. Key and Tymon are much happier in that formation, you can see it. I hope he doesn't abandon it.
I think the formation works better but we didn't have the pace in the roles that Ronald and Eom started in today.....Inoussa offered more pace in that role in midweek.

I agree, particularly away, it keeps us pretty tight at the back, and allows Tymon and Key to cause lots of problems going forward. I thought Key had a really good game today, apart from his horror miss at the end, which probably cost us two points. Get your feckin knee over the ball, sunshine!

Idah's situation at the moment is a little like it was for Gomis when we signed him and kept Bony half a season longer than we expected to. Vipotnik is clearly the better striker at this time and so Idah looks a worse player than he probably is because we're comparing them.

I sincerely hope Vipi is back for Preston, but if not, it will be Idah's third successive start and so he should, theoretically, be ramping up his performances.

We looked so much worse than usual first half.
As soon as we went one down it was like the players were allowed to make forward-thinking passes and we looked better.

It's not a formation issue, it's a tactical one.

I couldn't disagree more with that assessment, but fair enough.

I'm not so sure. I think the lad is outstanding as an impact sub with 30 minutes to go. Would he be so good playing the full 90?
I don't think that argument stands up. I'd much rather we were a significantly better team for 60-70 minutes and then sub him if he's knackered. Start with your most effective players on the pitch and go from there. Ronald and Eom are not currently amongst our most effective players so shouldn't be starting and despite his goal today, neither is Idah when VIP is fit. The idea of saving some of your better players for the last 20 minutes is ridiculous IMO. Better to use fresh legs to see the game out than to desperately chase it.

Barring Vipotnik for Idah, I think our best starting 11 was on the pitch when Widdell and Inoussa came on. I'd love to see us start that way against Preston.
