S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Coventry 1 Swansea 0 | Att: 30,139 | Boxing Day | The EFL Championship | The CBS Arena

A lot of people are judging Galbraith in what they think he can do rather than wha5 he’s actually doing.

If a different player had taken those corners at the end they would have had pelters.
Those corners were criminal and probably tells us why he's playing at the level he is.

So in the grand scheme of things, it's nonsense.
Not really but I won’t argue the toss. It’s just there to indicate which team has had the best quality chances. It’s only really useful with a large sample size of games though in my opinion.

I get it, it indicates that we have created good chances......2 clear cut chances today.
It's a bit of slap in the face if you don't win and like today didn't even score a goal and the outcome was a 1-0 loss.
Ultimately the only thing that counts is the 1-0 scoreline.

Everybody wants points of course but I’d argue performances are also important, if you can perform well consistently and create good quality chances on a regular basis, then you are going to come by points more often than not. I wouldn’t want us to be trying to nick games 1-0 every week. In away games like today though I can’t argue with the main point, the result is all that matters.

Agree they were bad but his overall performance in open play was excellent. I’d argue a level above.
He runs around a lot and looks busy, apart from that I'm struggling to see what end product he produces.

You pick players in positions where they can deliver tangible outputs.
New and young players - have a lot more rope. So Innoussa and Widdel - I am not sure that we have seen their potential - some promise but also some huge room for improvement. I think with Zeidanne it is a confidence thing - he needs a run of games with instructions to take players on and be creative.
However,, with Ronald (and to a lesser extent Eom) they have to be creating and taking chances. Ronald in particular wastes so many opportunities when played into promising spaces that I am going to have a stroke one day soon.
Cullen offers only one thing (Maybe 3 if you count pointing at others and chasing after the ball). He is selected to finish chances. Oh my good lawd - that chance today he could have headed it in, side footed it in, or let it hit his knob and dribble over the line.
Next time he hits one of his purple patches we need Bellamy to talk him up and get rid.
On the other hand - Franco is not playing well (obviously) but Stamenic and Yalcouye look really good championship players - and Galbraith is absolutely sensational. Yes he missed on some corner deliveries at the end - but he defends REALLY well, and on the ball I think he is the best player in the Championship. Worth the admission money on his own -but probably not at the ticket prices those thieving sky blue bastards charge.
One final note - we were debating the success of our recent transfers in the context of Adam Worth..Who was responsible for Vigoroux? Best keeper we have had at the club sine Fabianski - he was a fantastic spot.

A good performance overall but we're so obviously missing a quality wide player.
Eom & Ronald waste so many promising positions and Inoussa is frustratingly ineffective as well.
Play like that against Oxford & we should be OK, we're due an away win.

Sadly, all too familiar a tale for us over a number of seasons - plenty of the ball, plenty of periods of forward momentum within games, but it is not translated into superiority in the things that actually matter - getting shots off and troubling goalkeepers.

Sad truth is, we don't possess a single outstanding forward player (strikers, wingers or 10s) who would even compete for selection in the division's best XI, let alone actually get in to it.

This.

People are seeing what they want to see not what is happening.

He’s a neat and tidy player, technically very, very good, produces very little. I’ve said before he reminds me of Tom Caroll, Charlie Patino, Josh Mc whatever his name is (I can never remember).

I'd disagree on that.
He created a gilt edged chance for Cullen that should have got us a point.
Can't argue about the corners though, considering his ability to shoot from the edge of the box I don't think he should be taking corners anyway.

Josh McEachran, fair play, Lisa, that's some blast from the past 😀

He'll also be 25 by the end of the season, so we aren't looking at someone at the early stage of his career who is going to learn and develop further.
