S25/26| The Official Match Thread | Derby 2 Swansea 0 | Att: 27,841 | 14/02/26 | The EFL Championship | Pride Park Stadium

Just one of those days.

I'm certain we'll see a totally different performance at home next weekend.
Loads of possession with Ronald, Eom and Cullen doing almost nothing in attack.
We’ve had quite a few of these days.
I hate slagging players but if we have play off hopes, it’s not good enough.

I think it's clear Widell will be back in for Cullen next week. As he will have extra week on the grass as he just came back in the week. I'm expecting much more entertaining games next week.

I don't think, at this moment, we are good enough to have play off hopes, next season...
This is the thing though, Hull are no great shakes but their widemen have scored 17 league goals compared to our 4.
If just 4 of those 13 goals diff settled a match, you’re in the play offs.

It's been clear for a long time that we need a wideman that can contribute goals.
I think the hope was that Inoussa could be that player.

I think the play offs were always going to be a struggle when you consider we've given all the other teams in the league half a seasons head start.

We'll have a few more ups and downs this seasons. It's the next one I feel we should Start getting more excited about.

Oh 100%.
Prior to Matos, we’d be 2-0 down and it would feel like we weren’t even trying to get a goal back.
I’m very positive about Matos and the squad but over the last 20 odd years, we’ve seen success and 2 dangerous wingers were the key outlet for all of our possession.

Football seems to have fallen out with the classic Nr10. I still think it’s what we’re missing. Someone to thread balls through to Vip.
And allowing the 10 to get closer to VIP, play off him and get shots off.
Walta looks to be that player if we decide to play a 10.

Same here. That's what makes today frustrating.

I'm sure we're building something to be proud of, just keep the faith 🖤

I think the hope was Benson could be that player, seeing as he's actually done it loads of times. God alone knows what happened to him.

Benson was a matchwinner for Burnley 3 seasons ago, he had a wand of a left foot and has done very little since with injuries having a big play in it.
It was a roll of the dice with his signing, a fingers crossed scenario but reality was that he was a winger who liked the ball into feet and we needed a winger capable of running in behind defenders with real pace.
