Half time thoughts:
This 5-4-1 experiment of Sheehan's is not working. The lack of a central attacking midfielder to bring other midfielders and wingers into play is telling, while some nice football on the deck was played most of the game was long hopeful punts into channels or up in the air to Idah which just came right back at us
The goal was an unstoppable hit, two goalkeepers wouldn't have saved that. The only thing I can be a bit critical about is that someone could have given Casey a shout that he had time, he could have chested that cross down and cleared properly rather than that awkward stooping header which was just begging for someone to give it a hit.
Idah's annoying little flicks are pissing me off. There was one in particular around the penalty spot, the ball was planed to his feet and rather than take a touch and try to find a shooting angle or play someone in he tried a clever little flick to exactly nobody outside him.
Widell has been doing good work, but on the wing is not where he wants to be. He should be playing in the 10 position behind the striker. Him and Cullen on the wings gives us zero pace to threaten them down the flanks and so we need to pass our way past them to have any reasonable opportunities
At half time we need to hook one of the center halves for Eom or Ronald, put them on one flank with Cullen on the other and Widell behind Idah. But Sheehan won't change his formation he would rather die on that hill than change it.
