Galbraith is pure class but Stamenic just seems to up there alongside him.

Midfield needs to be Stamenic,Franco and Galbraith.
I still fear that Franco and Galbraith are too similar to each other in their play style

They clicked better in the second half today but in the first they were both almost in each other's way a lot they were filling the same spaces and looking to make the same offers. I feel like one of them playing with Widell or Yalcouye will be better overall but the strength in depth of our midfield is light years ahead of where its been ever since we got relegated

Based on form this season Franco would be the one you drop

Yep and there's nothing wrong with that. Best player of last season he may have been, but that was as part of a very different midfield. If we're now in the luxury position of having 3 central midfielders better than him, he sits on the bench.

Same with Eom. Would be very harsh to drop Inoussa from the starting 11 for the Hull game after today.

I watched Boro against Sheff Utd earlier and Boro looked very good

We should have picked up a draw and I didn't see their other two games but they are 4 for 4 so far this season and the early pace setters.
All true, but they were pretty poor against us and if we'd been even 75% as good as we were today, I'm sure we'd have beaten them.

Agreed but it works both ways

If they were 75% as good against us in the first game of the season as they were today they would have battered us

Do you think we should have beaten Boro now in hindsight?
Should have or could have? With hindsight, it was a mistake for Sheehan to leave Cullen on for the full 90 minutes and to wait until 63 minutes to bring Inoussa on. Better selection/subs might have made a difference. But we didn't have Stamenic then. So yeah, we definitely could have, but I am not sure we should have. Boro are top with 4 out of 4 as someone else posted. I think we should have defended better on that set piece though, so on that basis we should have come back with a point.

Where's Cullen play with two strikers here? Must be in the two midfield places only
We are going to have injuries and players in and out of form all season.

You can’t just have a good 11 and nothing else.

Cullen is a versatile player who will be a very useful asset in various positions for the season.

I think we need a striker PLUS ANOTHER striker if Vipotnik goes.

I think we may bring in two (one loan) up front (perhaps one of them who can also play on the wide right) plus another left sided defender. And Vipotnik will stay.

Ollie Cooper out. Possibly Ginelly out or contact ended before window shuts. Maybe Fulton out if possible.

A lot to still happen I think. That’s not btw based on any inside knowledge before anyone asks.

I cant be arsed to look - but i bet some oc the posters losing their minds about Idah were the same ones saying Stamenic would be a waste of money 🤔
Fair dos to our recruitment team / but we have added a TON of talent to this squad.
Just a cursory glance at the bench tells you we ate much stronger.

Cullen's reputation seems to rest largely on a good five or six weeks he had for Wales and us between November and December last season.

Scored three goals in 17 appearances for both until 19th November, then eight goals in nine games to Boxing Day. After that, three goals in 25 games up to the end of the season, with three assists all season in all competitions. The season before that, seven goals and five assists in 49 games.

We do need another striker, but to ensure that we never use Cullen there again as opposed to replacing Vipotnik. Can keep him around as a backup midfielder maybe.
