I feel I have to comment on the Coventry away fans. 👏👏👏👏👏
What a sound !!
Has to be one of the loudest bunch of fans I’ve heard at the stadium.
The one that kept going, with the drum beat was class.
I’m an old North bank boy that remembers the different chants and songs that were sung on it, the place would be rocking, and that would be with just 5000 if you were lucky.
Seems like now, we have 2 basics, Hymns & Arias, and The Swansea city song, plus a “Franko oh oh” thrown in for good measure.
Where’s the inventiveness gone ? like one of my old favourites ……
“Austin is our hero he’s solid as a rock, he plays in front of Willy, who’s got a massive c**k !”
This could have been written by Shakespeare himself !
I know our away supporters are miles better, because I’ve been there, so why can’t we have more of that away supporter vibe at home ?
They were annoyingly good yesterday. The creativity in our songs is crap.

We’ve had some fantastic songs over the years.

Haven’t seen any of it today so keep that in mind.

A lot of the criticism I’m seeing is about missed chances and the CB partnership which I think are things we’ve known for a while now. We know we aren’t clinical when it matters and that something isn’t quite right defensively so we just have to wait and see if all that gets addressed in the summer. I feel like Matos will know the areas to recruit for and hopefully we can come into next season a more well rounded outfit.

As for Grimes, he was always a fantastic midfielder at this level and it’s a real shame that we lost him after 10 years, that really shouldn’t be happening but there was clearly a lot of upheaval at the time. He is a huge miss for us though.

A lot who are critical on here cant have been watching either....our centre backs are not to blame for today. Fingers will point to Cabango for the penalty but it was never one. I ve watched it over and over....Cabango strikes the ball it travels backwards into thenpenalty box away from the Coventry player who slips as he tries to turn catching Cabango slightly.
The second goal is down to Eom messing about and not clearing his lines.

Lots of hand wringing but we lost ti the rumaway champions up to the pen we were the better side. As some one said goals change games we had chances but they werent converted....who knows what could have been had we gone one or two up.

Eom should've cleared the ball first time but that all came from Burgess giving the ball away yet again.

Didn’t watch most of the game so I’ll just say this….same old against the top sides , still five points required to allow the usual clowns on here the opportunity to gloat.

Think there is always going to be focus on the negatives after a loss like that, especially with the Grimes narrative in the background. Important to remember the positives as well though. Matos has us playing well in patches and any improvement to our set piece record is solely down to him because I don’t think we scored from one (in the league) until he came in.

We have more than enough to cling onto for hope going into next season.

The topic of away fans rumbles on...they should not have a key position behind our goal .. its been said time and time again. Our singers are wedged in the corner of the stadium with a few in the West corner.

With a bowl stadium it's easy to move away fans into corners. Leicester. Derby. Southampton, Stoke, Oxford, Norwich, Ipswich and Hull all push away fans into corners, even Cardiff do it.

Who will be the bright spark at the club to review this?

Thing is they brought 2000, hard to shove that amount in a corner. So that’s good revenue for the club, especially when you factor in drinks & food. Plus, did you see the number of empty seats around the rest of the ground?
Unless there’s a guy walking around the stadium dressed head to foot, in the club cream coloured merch, waving a towel and smoking a spliff, we can’t fill the seats we’ve got.

Probably our best attacking performance against a top side this season ,
Some of our movement going forward a joy to see made Coventry look ordinary .
Hit the wood work twice , missed 2 sitters ,
Keeper makes a brilliant save .
To go toe to toe with the best team in the Championship shows how far we have progressed .
Interesting to see the starting 11 where all were our players , I would start Stamenic before Fulton .

The referee makes a poor decision with the penalty most fans in the East Stand near the corner flag could see the attacking player slipped .

On the Away fans behind the goal I see no problem
8 wins out of 10 saw the Stadium become a fortress .
Big shout out to Coventry fans they were amazing loud didn't stop singing best away supporters I have seen this season .

I don’t agree re Grimes. A player who stayed firmly in his comfort zone whilst he was here. When it came to the crunch and the going got tough he hid.
I don’t think he would have got into a Frank Burrows side - he wouldn’t put up with his lukewarm attitude. He scored today but it was probably his first of the season and let’s face it we were on the floor after that shit penalty decision. They are going up and he’s captain- let’s see how he fares in the PL.

Good summary there. If we had started Fulton at Wrexham and Stamenic against Coventry the Wrexham game would have been a draw and the Coventry game possibly too. Stamenic was too passive at Wrexham but you could see he was up for it on Saturday. That bite is what we need on a consistent basis if we are to seriously compete in this division. Cooper’s teams were boring but had a hard spine to them - we were never bullied put it that way .

Lots asking for a bunch of new players.
Lets start with we had to finnagle numbers to get Walta in under FFS
So only way you get anything of any value coming in is Vip has to go
So get used to it now. Idah will be the No 9 next season
Now work backwards from there

3rd CB Lissah
LW Innoussa will be back
Midfield - Galbraith, Walta, Franco, Stamenic, Fulton
AM - Cullen, Widell
GK - good

All I expect in the summer is a

starting RB so Galbraith can boss the middle
LB cover - loan
maybe an AM loan but that would seriously limit Widell who is going to be even better next season
I’d say get 2 centre halves in as they are both terrible with the ball at feet and slow. Also a class RB , 2 wingers and a nasty centre MF.

We’re bang average. Bang average players, bang average manager.

But at least we’ve got Snoop Dog.

Grimes should never be judged on his ability to score though surely? He was the type of player to retain the ball under pressure and keep the play ticking and he did that very well. He can’t be blamed for the style of football we were playing under particular managers.

I used to be one of those that said he only passed sideways and backwards but I remember one game where he didn’t play and you could see how much poorer we were and how little control we had.

He got criticised for doing the exact same thing that Galbraith does when he’s in midfield but I don’t see the same level of criticism aimed at him.

Having said that, Grimes has gone down in my estimation for leaving us in the lurch when a relegation battle was a very real prospect.
